And I really can't stand current casting directors, they cast all the same people. And they have to be young and pretty boys.

But I think you're selling Pasquale short, I think he's been in a few supporting roles and I think he's the next in line to get the call. He's gonna have his own show on NBC this fall.

For bigger names, Guy Pierce has expressed interest in the role. They offered him the role years ago but he didn't feel like it but has changed his mind about doing genre flicks now. An unusual idea for DD would be Paul Bettany. It's not someone people think when they think DD but I think he would bring a cerebral new take to the character. I love the idea of DD fighting people in a calculated way(because being blind he has no other choices). For someone with more of a scrapper street style you have Mark Whalberg. A guy who came from the streets, an irishman himself(I believe). He's someone that can handle himself while not being that intimidating-looking(cause Matt is not).
how is Wahlberg less obnoxious than Pine? he's of Swedish, Irish, German and French Canadian descent, btw (and 5'8"). plus, you're neglecting the duality of the character. he has to be able to clean up well; do the lawyer thing. Wahlberg's a meat head. and that has seemed to work out for him.

Was briefly sent to prison for two 1988 incidents in which he attacked, beat, and yelled ethnic slurs at two Vietnamese men in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Both incidents were unprovoked by the victims, and in the second attack, Wahlberg beat and permanently blinded in one eye a man who was trying to help him escape from the police after the first attack.

[on narrowly avoiding being on hijacked 9/11 flight United 93] If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn't have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, 'OK, we're going to land somewhere safely, don't worry.' We certainly would have tried to do something to fight. I've had probably over 50 dreams about it.

Pine is the obnoxious jock, while Whalberg is more of thug-type. But maybe Whalberg could pull it off as a guy in a suit, I don't know. But my interest with Whalberg as DD is that I figure it would have to be a Matt Murdock as a scrapper street fighter at heart. And that he is short it's an advantage because DD is not the most physically imposing fighter and he has to be able to be agile and do a lot of stuff. Not a lot of 6 foot guys can do what they want, that is why most Olympics gymnasts are very short. But like I said, it would be "A" take on DD/Murdock, not the only take of the character. Guy Pierce is another and he would bring an altogether different vibe.

Yea, he's a thug alright. Don't know what that has to do with DD but anyway. That being said, that shit is funny.

Okay, so the overwhelming majority do not like the idea of Jason Statham as Daredevil... how about Norman Reedus?
