The pencils were nice, but the color really plays down how good Jerome is. In fact, the color makes his art look less than what he is capable of.

    I'm gonna say good.

It sort of conveys a feeling of being "epic" for back of a better word. It feels less like I'm reading a printed cartoon and more like I'm reading a printed movie, if that makes sense. Without even reading the words or knowing what's going on, it just feels like it's a big deal already.

There might be something about his style that doesn't tickle your fancy, but I don't think "good or bad" is a question anyone could ask about Opena.

Keep going back and forth on whether to buy this monthly or not. I'm at "yes" right now.

I was just going to say, I'm going to miss Dean White. I think it's less that this color isn't good and more that Dean White is amazing.

Anyway, this looks great. Hyperion looks like he's being tested by AIM, probably at the installation HIckman set up at the end of Fantastic Four. That's the Sh'iar Imperial Guard dying out there, so presumably that is the threat that the Avengers have to come together to face. And all those Iron Man armors, is that the Stark from GotG?

I remember his art in some panini reprints of uncanny x-force I got, I hated it.

    The art is gourgeous man.

I'm so pumped for this. Seeing The Avengers fight large threats under a writer like Hickman has me pretty damn excited. I can't wait.

The art itself is very good, I remember being impressed with the pencil previews in the Marvel Previews pages, but the colorist just isn't doing it for me. Won't stop me from trying it though, I ultimately care more about the story and characterization than the art.

Also, if I can suffer through Dillon on Thunderbolts, this will be nothing!

Seriously, those first three pages make me think more of a DC book, and I couldn't be happier. Just there alone it feels like this is going to be some epic adventure spanning space and time.

Sure they had HoM and a Skrull Invasion but somehow the books under Bendis always felt like they were lacking that scope of a flagship superhero book.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!
