Oh hell yes! iZombie is very great and should definitely read it. I mostly bought it on a whim when I was trying to read as much Vertigo series as I could find and this was probably the best surprise for me. While it started off interesting enough, it really got awesome when the comic started to expand on its mythology with its explanation for souls and how they relate to monsters. Then it got to the third volume and it was just so frickin' awesome. These are great characters and enjoyable/fun story with fasincating world to it. I highly recommend it.
Thanks IG!!

In brightest day, in blackest night,
No evil shall escape my sight
Let those who worship evil's might,
Beware my power... Green Lantern's light
I highly recommend it! I've always described iZombie as a "light-hearted and fun" series with a large and interesting cast and beautiful art. This is the series where I first heard of Chris Roberson and I now try to follow all of his work. Memorial by IDW was equally fun. After reading iZombie, you should check that one out. He's also the publisher of MonkeyBrain Comics which digitally publishes their books. Just some food for thought.![]()
its such a fun campy book if the first trade dosnt hook you vol 2 will great stuff
Thanks for the recommend everyone. Vol 1 was indeed pretty awesome.

I read the first issue and wasn't that impressed. It was ok but not great. Should I give the first trade a chance? How many trades are there?
There are four trades to the series, with the 4th and final one being released in December. I was like you when I read the series first. I read the first issue in the trade and wasn't extremely impressed off the bat (interested but not fully pulled in). I say read the first volume at least since issue 5 when the mythology is discussed is what turned me around. It was so fasincating and interesting that I simply had to continue on.
great series check out his other trade memorial realy good 2
Never read it . . . is it a cross between iCarly and zombies?![]()

Not sure if serious...but he's brief description of it:
The series is a horror and dark comedy hybrid that deals with the daily life of Gwen, a young woman who rises from the grave as a zombie, who maintains her memories, humanity and non-rotting appearance all well enough so long as she occasionally digs up a recent grave and eats somebody's brain.
Gwen and her best friends, a ghost and a were-terrier deal with life, love and boredom in a town filled with vampires and other supernatural monsters, as well as those who would hunt them down.

iZombie was a very good series. I usually referred to it as "pop horror" as it dealt with the typical horror elements - zombies, werewolves, vampires, etc, but in a kitschy kind of way.
The only problem I had with the series was once Roberson went all anti-DC crazy, as it showed in his work on this series. Which was a shame, as the last 6 issues were a big middle finger to the first 20.
