Are Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch the biggest dirtbags you've ever seen?

WELL? are they?


quicksilver maintains a modus operandi of "aloof jerk." it is his "thing." he revels in putting others down. quicksilver even openly insults his teammates/comrades in front of enemy forces! he has also recently engaged in aggressive terrorism against various nations, both domestic and extra-planetary.

i do not consider this to be acceptable behavior from a public figure.




scarlet witch has committed an unspeakable atrocity against an entire sub-species of mankind. crimes for which she continues to happily live unanswered for. she has been outwardly "possessed" at least twice, and attempted to murder all her so-called friends over make believe children!

...wanda even went so far as to marry an automation (VISION) -- perpetuating severely disturbing delusions while serving in the ranks of earth's champions...

i do not consider this to be stable or heroic behavior from her either.




are these two for real? is it time they were banned from the avengers FOR GOOD?

I agree with the good DetectiveDupin here. There should be a third option because I do like them both--Wanda a bit more than Pietro--but both are characters that yet have much untapped potential. I do not like what has been done with Wanda since 'Disassembled.' I don't want to derail the thread but you will never convince me that her behavior in that inglorious arc was FULLY in character. It wasn't. Pietro OtOH has always been abrasive but maybe not as extreme as done recently.

The problem was insufficient research and a disregard for their LONG continuity and character growth. So NO--Wanda and Pietro are not dirtbags, but rather exceptionally flawed individuals who may yet be redeemed. And I hope it is soon. Make it so Marvel.

Good point. Marvel have become stagnant and need to switch things around. Adding these two to the roster of the X-Men would be a frankly brilliant move for Marvel as a company.

Actually, Wanda used magical energy, the type that gods provide to their worshipers, to conceive children. In terms of fantasy fiction logic, the children were as real as elves, centaurs, mermaids, or other magical creatures.

Actually, the power Bendis and Heinberg provided her with, enabling her to transform the universe, transfigure souls, etc., is the power God would wield -- meaning that she could create life, so there would be no need to imagine the children.

"Avengers Disassembled" falls apart under any type of scrutiny.
