given the reception this character got I'm not really sure who the target audience is :/
still, seeing another book by Nuno Plati is pretty exciting on its own, I just hope they give him a new name at the end of the mini series 'cause that Alpha name is a stupid as stupid gets... and please don't call him Omega either!
Really? Out of all the teens to get their book, its Alpha? WOW.

...now, could anyone explain to me why a character so disliked gets his own mini when fan favorites like the Runaways and Avengers Academy end up in a book TO BE KILLED?!!!!!
I DON'T GET YOU MARVEL!!!!
There's a story there. Alpha was set up to be a jerk so he can learn responsibility the way Peter has. Or to completely wash out, fail, and go full-on villain. Either way, it's an interesting journey.
Actually, Alpha would have been a great fit in Avengers Academy.

Wow, really? This is actually happening? The only book I want to see Alpha starring in is avengers Arena, just so he can be killed off.
I'm actually looking forward to this. And it's written by Fialkov which is a bonus!![]()
Avengers Arena is one of the best books in the shops right now, it's seriously amazing.

The main thing to take away from this is that post-#700, Peter is still alive, and Horizon Labs is still around.
Did anyone say that Horizon was still around?
I don't think Pete's going to die, but you could say his relationship with Pete changes in an Uncle Ben's ghost kind of way post ASM 700.

Yes. It's in the article on Newsarama...
he has to "fly back to New York every couple of weeks on a Horizon private jet" check in with Parker, which seems to establish that Peter Parker is not only still alive post-Amazing Spider-Man #700, but still working at Horizon Labs.

I love I, Vampire, so I'll be reading this just for Fialkov's writing. Don't care for Plati's style, and I really don't feel like saying it's much better than Ramos'.
However, S/D makes a very good point. Then again, Avengers Arena is an ongoing, and we don't exactly know how this mini-series can end. I'm using the two recent Carnage minis as an example, but since those two books set the stage for Minimum Carnage, it's entirely possible that this could affect the ongoings, and maybe Alpha could get dumped into Avengers Arena, which leaves the following possibilities:
1. Alpha saves everyone, essentially making him the hero of Avengers Arena.
2. Alpha is killed, and then there will much rejoicing.
3. Alpha simply becomes a regular member of the cast.
At least it's something different than the status quo of which character dies.
