As much as I liked Ultimate Peter, I really did feel like his series had gotten pretty stale and it would be really cheesy to bring him back. It's not that I'm entirely against characters being brought back ever, but it'd just seem really stupid and weak in this case. If it was a clone with his memories, maybe, but even so....they made such a huge thing over his death and it was so....final....it'll just seem like bad storytelling just to satisfy people's need to see their favorite character again. A lot of my favorite Ultimate characters have died (Cyclops, Beast, Nightcrawler, Peter) and I just don't want them coming back unless it makes sense storywise and doesn't seem like a cheap cop-out. And as much as I miss those characters, Spider-Man and X-Men have both been pretty damn good and re-energized by the switch.

Part of what I like about the Ultimate Universe is that they can take chances and kill characters and push the limit. It makes it very unique from the 616. And while Peter may be gone in Superior, anyone who thinks he's gone for good is nuts. 616 Peter will never actually be gone permanently (nor should he be). But it seems dumb to undermine so much of the Ultimate line's uniqueness and daring to pander to nostalgia. "But we like Peter" isn't really enough of a reason to write some contrived BS to undo the past two years of stories. Like I said, it'd just be cheesy.

Spider-Woman is, for all intents and purposes, the Ultimate Universe version of the Scarlet Spider as known in the 616 Universe. A character actually named the Scarlet Spider in the UU would probably have nothing to do with Peter and the Spider-Men.

Okay Miles beat Peter by stunning him. He didn't overpower him or really out think him. Peter dropped his guard against a little kid and that's how he lost the fight. Miles venom strike is pretty damn powerful mind you. Might be time to explain that thing.

Miles also has his Spider sense. It's that damn thing that kept Peter alive all those years. Many of the bad guys he defeated are unaware of his ability to turn invisible and his venom strike. Those two abilities have saved Miles life multiple times. Eventually his baddies are going to wise up. He's also going to have to one day do retcon and not engage in fisticuffs.

Captain America is giving Miles a lot of slack over guilt. The Captain had been super resistant to training Peter and feels guilty about it. You know he aint taking Miles into a warzone. He's going to give him the lighter stuff but he will take him seriously. Don't at it as him succeeding where Peter failed but more like him getting opportunities where some folks failed Peter.

I love Miles and I think he works better then Peter in some cases. If your argument is simply "he's not Peter Parker" then well.............whatever.

Only Peter Parker is Spider-man...all others are imposters. my 2 cents.
I really miss the relationships that Peter had in the UU. So far I just ain't interested where Miles is going.

I still say they can bring Peter back (Wolverine too). It's just a Fury secret project. He had Peter's body switched with a dead clone and Peter is currently in a coma.

If Peter came back after the way he died hed be the biggest name superhero on marvel earth, larger than life like superman. Might be worth consideration.

Still seems like a cop-out. Story wise, it'd be so awkward and tacked on for Peter to suddenly return, especially so soon. I'm not saying Marvel never should do it, but it'd be pretty bad writing to do it so soon.

I mean, I miss the Ultimate X-Men, but even I have to admit, it'd be really contrived and dumb to try and revert back to the status quo at this point.

It's the age old cries of, "I want something I love to be fresh", they get something fresh and it's back to, "it's different so I don't like it! Change it back"

Gee, I'm pretty Damn sure that I have NEVER suggested that Marvel should kill off Peter Parker and replace him.

For me it's pretty simple math. Right now, I spend $0.00 a month on Ultimate comic books. I am not interested in Miles Morales at all. If Marvel wants me to spend money on the Ultimate line; They need to tell stories I'm interested in.

Two comics I would give a chance. Ultimate Spider-Woman and a comic featuring Peter traveling the war torn U.S.A. protecting the innocent and righting wrongs.

With 616 Peter going on Hiatus for a while, I think(hope) that Marvel will feel increasing pressure to provide a Peter Parker for his many loving fans.

I still think Pete becoming the Ult. Scarlet Spider would be a nice twist on the 616/Clone saga.

They COULD bring Peter Parker Earth-616 to UU as a permanent resident. Or they could go with the old Sliders TV route where he travels to different Earths. Here is a link that talks about it:

The regular Marvel U. Peter Parker just isn't the same since Sins Past and One More Day. Those two storylines ruined the character and his supporting cast for me.

As far as Bendis creating Ultimate Peter Parker? This is true. And Stan Lee created the original Peter Parker. However, when Stan ran out of ideas and couldn't find a direction for the character, he turned the series over to a new writer who pumped new life into the series and wrote one of the all-time classic Spider-man stories. (And he was followed by decades of new writers, some of whom wrote some brilliant Spider-man stories, and some of whom wrote some really crappy ones). But he didn't kill off the character.

I'm still holding out for the Zodiac Key to undo all this. With a different writer, preferably. Bendis has clearly lost it.

When the sequel to Amazing Spiderman hits theaters, they'll have a way to bring him back from the dead to coincide with the movie.

They didn't do it for the first movie, I doubt they're going to for the sequel. If anything, they'll probably bring Peter back as Spider-Man in 616 when the sequel comes out.
Holding out for a Peter/Miles team up.

Nonsense. 99.9% of any time, the people shouting for the first thng are not the people shouting for the second thing. The only people who claim it is are people who want to appear superior.

Personally I find Miles boring, and woul love Peter to come back.

I dont think it will happen, just as Logan isnt coming back in the universe either, and we are stuck with his son, but in both cases I would much prefer them to the replacements.

You know as I read this thread that I'd forgotten I started, I think I'm having a bigger issue with USM. I miss the Bendis/Bagley run and I just don't think this book will ever live up to that run again. Everything was firing all cylinders for so many issues. I don't dislike what Bendis is doing now, but I just don't feel anything is enticing me. Miles is OK as a character, but I just don't feel any connection to him. Maybe he is just too young for me.

Do they? I didn't see another. I wonder why you'd wonder into this thread though if you are so sick of them. I've never understood boardies like this...
