I have the Deadpool Max although i have still to read them but from what i have read they are supposed to be more violent. It doesn't matter if they aren't i just had read Ennis's Punisher was a great read so i bought the trades.
The violence in MAX is alot more graphic. The tone is also alot darker.

Interested in picking up Deadpool MAX myself. Have heard mixed reviews about it but think what I have read of David Lapham was very solid.

Yes, and imo it's the worst thing since Angelic Punisher.
I feared this. The painted style made me curious to pick it up but decided I might could find the books in a $1 box down the road, especially since it seemed to be it's own thing. A guy on a Star Trek board where we talk some comics liked it though. He was the only person to offer an opinion on it till now that I'd seen.

Worst thing since Angelic post-electric chair vol.2 Punisher. That's a bold bit of commentary.

Rucka's the guy who can deliver the essence of the Punisher character without resorting to an overabundance of cursing, violence and nudity. He plays Punisher as this force of nature character -- Hell, he doesn't even talk for the entire first issue but immediately you get an understanding of who Frank Castle is. The Spider-Man/DD crossover was good as well and Rucka's detective work playing side-by-side with Frank is the best experience I've read with the character. It should be the benchmark on how to frame a Punisher story.

I'm waiting for the collection to come out. I rarely buy trades, but this one gets the honor of being displayed with Civil War, Walking Dead and S.H.I.E.L.D. in my bookcase of comics that I wouldn't be embarrassed having non-comic fans read.
This. By far my favorite Punisher run of all time.

You can always search for someone that has that issues maybe you will like, but you can ask any hardcore fan of the Punisher they will give you similiar answer. I like Texeira's art but the plot... it's one of the worst things besides archie's crossover, angelic punisher and frankencastle... Oh and the black Punisher back in the mike baron's era.

It is terrible. What I have read of Frank Tieris stuff has all been awful and this is just one more to add to the list. Liked Tex's pulp style art but that doesn't save it. My recommendation is to avoid.
