Deadshot's origin is pretty tricky, since there has never to my knowledge been a full story devoted to it. If you piece together Secret Six #15 (explains his first outing as a guy in a suit and top hat), Strange Apparitions (explains his modern costume and antagonism with Batman) and Legends of the Dark Knight # 214 (touches on his childhood) you'll probably get the most accurate picture.

Anyone here familiar with origins of Clayface other than Preston Payne?
    How about Killer Croc?

He was once a circus guy with a freak skin condition, then was given some kind of serum that turned him into what he is in most continuity - but idk if there's a real origin, maybe DC will fill this gap soon as it's got potential to be cool.

I knew that, Batman TAS had similar episode. But what about comics? Any particular title?

Funnily enough I'm reading up on the Arkham Unhinged stuff and just read a Croc origin story. 20-22. It's not that great and probably not canon, but it's something.

Basil Karlo debuted in Detective Comics #40.
Matt Hagen debuted in Detective Comics #248. A revision was done in Legends Of The Dark Knight #89 and 90.
Sandra Fuller debuted in The Outsiders #21.
Secret Origins #44 recounted the origins of the first four Clayfaces and lead into "Mudpack", Detective Comics #604-607.
Cassius Payne debuted in Shadow Of The Bat #26 and was seen again in Batman #550.
Peter Malley debuted in Batman #550.
Todd Russell debuted in Catwoman #1-4.
Johnny Williams debuted in Gotham Knights #60.

Man, is there a more watered down villain than Clayface? Karlo and Preston Payne are the only ones that are even remotely memorable, and even they rarely rise above B-movie horror quality as characters.

It's such a disappointment, learning about Clayface from watching the awesome TAS episodes, and then going to the comics and finding out how lame he/they really are.

For the Joker's origin, I prefer not to think of him as a failed comedian who got suckered into committing crimes with a red bucket over his head. That silver age nonsense never should have been allowed to become modern canon, but unfortunately Alan Moore used it in Killing Joke and DC slavishly accepted it. I don't dislike it just because a guy wearing a bucket over his head is stupid (though it really really is), but also because that origin implies that the chemical bath was completely responsible for the Joker we ended up getting, which I think diminishes him as a villain.

My preferred Joker origin is "Lovers and Madmen" from Batman Confidential 7-12 (also collected in a trade.) No red buckets to be found, and it even gives us a plausible reason why Batman never just kills the guy.

    Seriously???

Croc debuted in 1983, not 1987.

As "King Croc", he does not get any better than that (Detective Comics #523-526, Batman #357-359)

If you are truly "longtime Batman fan" enough, isn't it time to open yourself to some culture and some classics???

As mentioned, Croc's origin can be found in Batman #359 (1983), as a scaly kid, strongly implied being African American, in tough Southern Streets, in harsh times when everyone, including the crooked law, violently discriminates, based on the difference of skin.
