Maybe they're not. Maybe turning to the dark side means willingly entering a symbiotic relationship with a Sith. Maybe Vader was so powerful that he has managed to stick around, despite Anakin's death.

Just throwing ideas out there, but anything is possible. Star Wars is a fantasy, a modern myth. I hope the new writers remember that, anyway.

You know. The whole "I am your father" bit.

EDIT: And last night he showed Mary Poppins cutting the housekeeper in half with a lightsaber.

I just hope that Disney and the other studios have realized not to let someone direct a major motion picture from someone who has only directed animated movies.

What do you want to see Vader in new Star Wars movies so badly? Bring him back seems like the most lazy half-assed thing they could do.

The only thing that I could see working his having, like, his lingering Dark Side presents in some area...but then again, that kind of thing would work far better with the more evil big bad of the movies: The Emperor.

I just assume he will be back because he's the franchise's most iconic figure. The Emperor is kind of dull- an old guy in a robe.

And since the first six episodes are now Vader's story, an episode seven should probably involve him as well. Otherwise, they might as well drop the episode number. (Which would be fine with me.)

It's kind of funny but as a kid it always seemed like Vader was the guy in control of everything and maybe he was just waiting for the that old coot to die or something so he could take over completely.

But as an adult i found it kind of weird and creepy that he would be taking orders from some old dude who did nothing at all.

Since i asked this in the other thread and noone has answered i will try it here since this has been bugging me, what exactly does Lucas get out of this deal? money? the man has plenty of that and it doesn't look like he needs anymore of it.

If he has realized that his "gifts" are waning that's great but why sell out to the big mouse? he has always patted himself on the back for his independence and now that's gone has no control or say so about what is gonna happen in his movies anymore, which is weird cause he has had some control tendencies before.

because The Mouse has the tools and the talent to keep the franchise going

what did you think he was going to do? give it to some nothing studio and let it rot?

Why did he have to "give" to anyone?

he can find the right people and talent without selling his whole company to Disney or anyone else.

because its a full time job and he wants to retire and take it easy....but also understands that there is still a place for Star Wars out there...like I said before, deals like this don't happen overnight, Im sure there was a lot of consideration from Lucas and Kathleen Kennedy before this happened

I agree but i just don't understand why he felt he needed to sell his whole company to Disney to do all that.

To me it seems a little illogical to cede all control over something that was his baby that he had complete control over.

There's nothing illogical about it. he's closing in on 70 and wants to do other things with his life. He looked around and decided that Disney had the best combo of resources needed to keep things going. I don't see what's so hard to understand about that.
