Daniel Mengsk, I recorded a song for ye... It's a Scottish ballad written by Andy Hunter called "Ye Hielan Chiels", and it's to be recorded by the lovely Fiona Hunter for her upcoming album. The song recounts the Scots involvement in WWII as part of the British troops. The distinctive sounds produced by consonance and alliteration with the voice are stellar. And the imagery of the gas clouds invading the trenches and the blood and sweat caked and stained so badly that no rain could wash them clean, nor the deeds that had been done. It's such a strong song.
