FYI guys, at the Item 47 panel at SDCC they said they will never do a crossover.

FYI, putting Stark Tower in the Amazing Spider-Man and putting OsCorp Tower in the Avengers is not a crossover. A crossover is a mingle of characters. Easter Eggs and references are ways to place them in the same universe without a crossover. Double FYI, people in the film industry lie. Denis Leary said that he'd be in more than one Spidey film. Not so much. Don't take anything ANYONE says too seriously unless it is in retrospect where people have nothing to hide.

What use would Leary be for a flashback. Still that is not the first time movie reps have lied before production to throw us off. And with something as big as a crossover, they may want to keep it under wraps for as long as possible so it is more of a shock when it comes out which means more tickets. The FYIs were to counter your FYI.

And The Amazing Spider-Man is a film that should be backed up. It is better than Spider-Man and FAR better than that atrocity known as the Ultimate Spider-Man TV show. We do NOT need that on the big screen. MARVEL clearly has no idea how to handle Spidey outside if comics (and even that is falling apart, see: Miles Morales). Sony should keep the rights and continue to make great Spider-Man films but they do need a re-do on Ghost Rider. And franchises gain momentum. Sony learned that the hard way when their profits dropped 1 million at least. Another reboot would kill Spidey. Not that that would matter as Spidey would be so spectacularly screwed up due to MARVEL having no direction for the character other than to look like like an incumbent imbecile.

Here's the thing, though. Those guys doing Ultimate Spider-man? allllll the way to the left of the studio building. The guys doing those Marvel movies? In a different state entirely and have only met the tv guys once for a little party.

Well...I'm still a little scared, forgive me. I just think the only way that Avengers and Spider-Man are EVER going to have the REMOTEST crossover is if Sony and Disney make a deal. And, as we've seen, they are willing to do so. That doesn't change because some guy at Comic Con said they never will crossover.
