(And please don't say "They can just buy those two issues as single copies", because that's not always convenient. For example, I buy many of my comic books at a local Barnes & Noble, which doesn't carry JLDark on a monthly single issue basis, but does stock the tpb collection.)

I won't say that. But I will say, "if you really want to read/'fully understand' those 2 issues, may as well read the I,Vampire issues anyway, since it is a crossover." I could also say "get over it!"
Comics were happier before the Internet turned writing superhero stories into fruitless attempts to impress/entertain a small group of ppl who appear to hate comics and their creators.

Honestly, I've not read a single book from the New 52 so far that I didn't like, so I plan on collecting them all. I've only bought four so far:
Static Shock Vol. 1 - Supercharged
    O.M.A.C. Vol 1 - Omactivate!
Justice League Dark Vol 1 - In the Dark
Men of War Vol 1 - Uneasy Company

I'm mainly focusing on the books that are complete right now, JLD just happened to be the cheapest of all the other books on Amazon, :p

I've never been a big trade buyer. All my on-going pulls are digital, so I don't have to worry about preserving the monthlies. The one trade from the last year that I would be interested in picking up is The Shade miniseries. Great, self-contained story and all the artists did an excellent job in their own way.
Be a fan of the creators, not the characters.

Stormwatch. Not a big Nu52 fan...
What is this, Horseville? Because I'm surrounded by naysayers.
