Bishop was an official member of the 198. He murdered the pilots using nanosentinels and sicked them on the X-Men so that he could get the baby first. I don't think he thought the Sentinels would manage to kill the X-Men anyway. He needed them distracted.

As far as the whole Bishop thing, I suppose the moral of the story is that even though things went bad with the ONE Sentinals I don't think you can really say it was the pilots fault or the Sentinals fault. It was obviously Bishops fault. Even though things didn't work out well obviously, I don't think the idea of Sentinals with pilots was necessarily a bad one. I think there are legit upsides to giving them human operators. Though as I said earlier, I think there are certain desirable things about having unmanned robots as well.

Being a member of the 198 just ne meant he was still a mutant and still alive, he betrayed the mutants in the CW and was working for the government

Bishop got a mentality similar to Dredd. First and foremost he was a cop, and then a mutant.

But seriously those sentinels and the pilots were basically keeping the X-men captive so fuck them

Sorry meant an official member of O.N.E. which Valerie Cooper was too. I don't know how you pronounce O.N.E. (One, Nine, Eight)
