and there's a big Wonder Woman storyline focus coming up,
Her friend was cut by a magic dagger and now she's a furry cat. And she's just evil "for the meowz".

So deep, so creative! The WW franchise is very enriched by this story.

    Oh boy....

"Ahoy Captain Bland! Are ye off on one of ye monotonous adventures?!"
It would be nice if Johns could write the League with deeper members and not just cardboard stand-in's and make the stories even the slightest bit interesting.

Then there's 'da kiss'; blatant PR stunt that tells volumes of how few stories Johns actually has to tell with this book and team.

DC please get rid of Johns...

Yeah you know, I think there's a touch of oversaturation with Johns now. His GL is getting tired, with yet another Earthman, becoming the FIFTH American GL out there. Ah, has anyone checked out China, India, or anywhere else where there's boatloads of people?

Hmmm. Get rid of a writer that whose very presence on a title causes sales to skyrocket and who gave us some modern classics like Sinestro Corps War, Blackest Night, Infinite Crisis, and many more? Yeah, don't think that's gonna happen.

Now, Grant Morrison on the other hand, hasn't written anything good since All Star Superman. DC should've cut him loose after Final Crisis.

If Johns weren't writing JL, DC would likely put someone shittier on it, either another ghost from the 90s or someone like Giffen, Jurgens, or even Daniel.

Morrison is leaving and Scott Snyder can't write everything. DC is finally starting to try to develop some new writing talent, but as it stands, their bullpen isn't particularly deep. Other than Snyder and Morrison, who I discounted for the earlier reasons, I can't really think of anyone on DC's roster who I'd rather see on JL or who I think would do a significantly better job of it. Maybe Lemire? Seriously, that's all I've got. Azzarello is a good writer, but he's never been particularly high on the shared universe thing, which would pose problems for him writing JL.

I'm looking forward to all of his work. Most intrigued by the Justice League-Aquaman arc.

DC seriously needs to try and get either Joe Kelly or Mark Waid back. Those guys' JLA runs were both awesome. The former is probably the more likely due to Waid being firmly established over at Marvel for the time being. Also, didn't Waid have some sort of blowout with Didio over 52 or something?

Johns just needs to not be so spread thin. I mean, four titles? Anyone's work would start to suffer if they were that spread out.

The person who DC really needs to get rid of is Didio.

Yeah let's blame DiDio for Johns's lackluster writing.

Johns is on paper a right fit for this book. He just needs to stop spreading himself thin (if that means cutting down on books so be it). Ideally a co-writer like David Goyer, but he's probably too deep in the movie world to do that regularly.

I can do without Waid or Kelly.

Modern classics? More like buckets of vomit that everyone's mostly forgotten once they were over.

True and it's shitty enough as it is...vaguely curious if Gail Simone could do it, her teams have usually been better than her solo books.

Gail Simone is better in the more personal, dark kind of team books, not a big cinematic-fest like JL. I do think she would have been perfect for the new JLA book. Though the book she really should be writing is Suicide Squad.

No, lets blame Didio for driving away one of DC's then best writers. i.e. Mark Waid.

And, lets see you (or anyone really) try to deliver on three titles each month, while also adding a fourth and fulfilling the responsibilities of a CCO. Seriously, I don't get why people here are so hard on Johns. Its as if every single thing he does is under the microscope with some people on these forums. Meanwhile, writers like Grant Morrison are held up as geniuses when I'm pretty sure he smokes a bowl every time he sits down to write something.
