Anyone wanna take bets that Thor becomes worthy of Mjölnir after his recklessness leads to the death of his barbarian comrades, he learns humility, but of course theres that happy ending of said barbarians ending up in Valhalla. :b

Thankfully, the chat addressed one of my worries with the series with the answer I was hoping for. I thought that Future Thor might reveal too much about what will happen in the Marvel Universe, but there are so many ways the future can go that I won't have to worry about that.

Wow. Ribic's art is pretty amazing. Very impressive.

For the first big arc, we get away from Broxton and Midgard. You see a little bit of Thor on Earth, but Jason thinks you can do a story about Thor that doesn't always bring them down to our level--sometimes it's about bringing us up to theirs.
Sounds like Aaron plans on keeping this story as epic as possible.

I sent in a question regarding whether or not we'll see the full scope of Thor's abilities, but I'm not sure if it'll get answered.

Aaron said that he had spoken with his fellow Marvel writers and Editorial about the idea that Asgard's inhabitants may just be aliens who live much longer than man, but for him, he considers them true gods, and a huge part of his story explored the idea of mythology and what makes a god.
This is an interesting point. Don't Stark and Reed Richards consider Asgardians and advanced alien society or something? The movie (Thor) also made mention of that through Jane Foster, which I found somewhat strange.

Sounds like Aaron plans on keeping this story as epic as possible.
I'm loving the sound of this story. This has tons of potential. I also pray that the title becomes successful enough where Aaron and Ribic are allowed to have a lengthy run.

For some reason I just can't get into Jason Aaron's Thor right now no matter what I see or hear. Hopefully, the issues I've preordered so far will suprise me.

Gorgeous artwork by Ribic! I miss the helmet designed by Coipel, though. Its smaller wings were different from what you see in standard fantasy helmets.

I'm not big on the idea of a future Thor missing limbs, but it's not as if the future was set in stone (as previous Thor runs have shown). The story being split into three time periods is pretty intriguing.

Some of the things Aaron had said, mainly about present Thor, has made me think about Incredible Hercules: Sacred Invasion. I loved what Pak has done with this particular corner of the Marvel Universe and I am looking forward to revisit it under Aaron.

All in all, I am quite hyped for this title. The writer, the artist and the pitch and themes sound great.

To keep it short, will we see Thor tap into more powers than brute strength and controlling the weather? I mean he's got energy manipulation and opening portals and things of that nature. Will he mix it up power-wise or will he be a blunt instrument?

And thanks for taking the time to answer the question as best you can.
