Well a Captain Atom/Firestorm team up sounds pretty cool.
Animal Man, Batman Inc, Constantine, Earth 2, Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Justice League, Justice League Dark, JLA, Saga, Swamp Thing, Supergirl and Superman.
Interesting to note that first Perez and now Jurgens Superman runs were botched due to things behind the scene, wonder when his run is done if Lobdell will feel the same?
But I agree with him that the combined original type of Firestorm just seems to be a better idea rather than two individual ones that can opt for a Hulk-like combination. But I am not so sure about the idea of the Firestorm has that unique draw with young people that it once had, there's after all almost as many young heroes as there are adults now.

Wtf happened with JLI anyway? Jurgens says they had a ball doing it, and he still has some ideas up his sleeve. Huh?! From the first issue that series felt like it was set up to fail, and the only thing they were working towards was tearing the team down. Well, that and making Godiva a star for some reason. Such a shame after Winick & Lopresti's fantastic Generation Lost.
Anyway, back on topic. Aside from the Captain Atom appearance I still can't find a reason to pick Firestorm up...
Sounds to me like it may work.
I've had a very poor reaction to the new Firestorm so far, but I think Jurgens has the right idea in bringing Firestorm into the book.
Anyone who thinks DC is bringing back the Silver Age doesn't know what the Silver Age is.
There is no such word as "persay," it's per se, two words, from the Latin.
When is DC going to cut Jurgens loose? I find his writing very bland and unoriginal. His art is very dated and it seems from the failure of books he works on, they would get the idea. I wish DC would give some NEW talent a chance.
Mama said knock you out!

I didn't get the same vibe from this statement as I did the Perez interview. Jurgens was too brief in the response to imply any sort of conflict or interference. Just seemed more like DC wanted something other than where they were going and probably have had more time to come up with an idea (that is, now that Morrison is done Action).
The only reason I'm buying this book is because of Jurgens. I get what you mean about his style, but there is still an audience for that. The comic industry is full of books that are failures of all sorts of style. This book already failed.
I liked the original Firestorm run. It was like Silver Age Spider-Man crossed with Silver Age Flash. A young hero with personal problems combined with a "magic through super-pseudo-science" approach. It's nice to see it going back to the original approach a little more, though I'm sure it'll still be its own modern thing in a lot of ways.

So Jason has been reduced back to talking head slash side kick? Nope, I am good.
Snowstorm Comics is the newest comic book publisher. Releasing their first print "Kindred" from their upcoming comic, "Evolved" you can find out more at snowstormcomics.com
I am looking forward to this....all that multiple Firestorm stuff just really irked me. Firestorm is full of potential and power. This is going to feel like a classic super hero comic, but made for today.
I had high hopes for this but I read the preview and could almost feel my anticipation fizzling out. I'll still give #13 a shot but it was hard to get the sense from the preview that Jurgens has something exciting up his sleeve, it just felt very vanilla and predictable.
How quickly ideas get abandoned in the new DCU.
(Im not here to trash on DC, it's an observation.)
In recent years, Dan Jurgens has been rather hit and miss.
And going back to the old been-there-done-that Firestorm? Doesn't really scream must-buy to me.
Jurgens was great on Valiant's Solar back in the day, so I think he's got what it takes here.
Captain Atom being here too ? That's cool.
