Anyone else get a good laugh out of the fact a studio is announcing a release date before they even have a script, director, actors, etc.???

Oh, they actually have a script. And also, you have to admit that guardians of the galaxy didn't have a director when it was announced.

I'll believe it when I see it, Warner Brothers doesn't have a great track record so far with DC franchise movies, its only since DCE was formed have they kept saying they would announce their plans for the DC franchise of films and nothing has happened.

I say people stop bitching about it and give it a f*cking chance. It is all we need. You give it a shot. Even if it's not great, you give WB a chance to see the true potential of the project and thus moves on with it and does it better in the future (unless you are a marvel fan and thus you don't want it to be successful whatsoever.) However, they should be at least smart enough to know that including superman from man of steel is a MUST.

So, Snyder's Superman will not be a factor? I'm hoping that's just conjecture, because it'd be pretty idiotic for them to reboot Superman in 2013 only to reboot the concept again in 2015.

CBR's article was incorrect on that point.

WB included a clause in Henry Cavill's contract that obligates him to appear in a number of sequels, including an option to use him as Superman in Justice League.

I want to give it a chance, but given DC/WB's track record of superhero movies besides Batman it's hard to not approach this with some trepidation. And yeah, you'll get the people who'll grumble and go "DC planned this before Avengers", but considering they're jumping straight to a superhero teamup movie and not establishing their own universe beforehand this totally looks like an attempt to ride the Avengers wave.

Just like how the Ultimates and some of the more recent stuff heavily influence the Avengers and the other Marvel movies, I'd be very shocked if the reboot stuff doesn't at least slightly color the movie. My guess is we'll see modernized costumes and Cyborg as the token non-white member of the team.

It certainly seems as though having to establish and introduce the characters within the movie, as opposed to using characters that are part of existing franchises, is going to make this an uphill battle for the director and screenwriter.

Safe to say "Justice League" will make or break DC at the movies going forward.
