Why assume that Orion is "the firstborn" when the solicitation copy for February has them as separate characters?

What strange alliance has the terrifying First Born made?

Unless it's really calculated misdirection, I think it's safe to say that the DC 52 Orion doesn't eat people's heads.
The Silver Age is best recreated by not repeating it.

Indeed, he's very wrong. It is Cronus, with Goya as the inspiration.

I noticed the similarity to Goya's Cronus, and I posted that image back on the Wonder Woman 13 Preview thread, but I don't feel sure yet that this means the First Born is definitely Cronus. It may be just a family resemblance--or, speaking more literally, it may be that the creative team found the image suitably terrifying but applied it to a different being.

But is the First-Born Orion? No, I agree with both of you that he is pretty much certainly not Orion.

Boy, I'm so disappointed with this issue I thought the art was going to better and the story was so boring.

I thought the First Born was just interested in chewing on the mans brains to get all the information
he needed about his current situation like how to communicate and where he was and how
    to move about.

GREAT call, and you are totally right. I'm relieved to know now that Orion isn't eating people's heads. :)

Same here—as soon as he's eaten the brain he can talk with them.
