Unrelated, im watching the perry saturn youshoot, and it's sort of scary.
Like, given what he went through with the drugs and getting shot in the head and stuff, he comes off better than like 3/4ths of the guys who do these.

Yeah, that was rough. CM Punk kind of implied that during his promo but not flat out cold like this article. Other than the Hart Dynasty matches they never really gave him a shot. Hopefully he'll go for either the Intercontinental or United States title when he comes back. Or even the Tag Team title, I know they're trying to focus on that category pretty heavily recently.

This actually helps CM Punk's liability on his promo that he did on Monday Night Raw two weeks ago. His promo seemed to have angered Brodus Clay enough where he became a 400-pound monster in the match between CM Punk at this week's Raw. His promo actually acknowledged that Tyson Kidd is a workhorse, apparently a term that Kidd has been referred to backstage for awhile and WWE.com writes an article about him. I'm waiting for Daniel Bryan to revert back to the "lethal grappler and serious submission specialist" that he is soon with the way it seems to be going. Although, honestly, Daniel Bryan seems like he's having a lot of fun doing the Team Hell No promos and I wouldn't want to take that away from him. As much as I'm a Cena fan, always have been and always will be, CM Punk pretty much flat out told us that Cena is going to get the WWE Championship title match soon. Not that many of us didn't know that but CM Punk just stated it without saying that he'll work his way through the Royal Rumble or earn a spot in the Elimination Chamber match.

As time goes by, to me, it seems that CM Punk's promo was actually right on the ball when it came to most of the things he was talking about.

Just want to remind everyone that Joey Styles does wwe.com, and vince has little to no control over it.
So when you see stuff like that tyson kidd thing or a daniel bryan article, it's not an indication of where creative is going, it's most likely something Styles wanted to do.

I watched WWE the other day and saw Great Kali in a battle royal match that he ended up winning, it had to be the saddest wrestling site i've ever seen in history. He did only thee moves which include chest slap, headbut, push. Then three guys came down and started playing air guitar, they referred to themselves as the three man-band.
Ten years ago these guys would have been toast, and 15 years ago they wouldn't have lasted a day. What the hell happened to the industry. smh

    And that's why they work.

There has to be at least a nugget of truth (and sometimes a lot more than that) in order for his "pipe bombs" to have any real impact. Plus, we all know how much wrestling smart fans love "shoots."

and yet bash russo for it.
Mr. Backlund continued wrestling under the new gimmick of an out of touch, yet highly dangerous, maniac out to teach the new generation a lesson.[3] He often appeared in business suits, had a hyperactive personality, and used (or, often, misused) large words to sound important. He also demanded that he be addressed as "Mr. Backlund". He would only sign autographs for wrestling fans if they could recite the names of all of the US Presidents in chronological order

Theres a difference between saying john cena sucks because he panders and having jeff jarret literaly lay down for hogan while the announcers scream that it's not in the script.

Don't ruin this for me, Alex. (I'm just kidding.) I never knew this, actually. Which kind of upsets me in the way that there's no implication of where creative is going but I'm alright with it because at least the article does what it's meant to do, spread the word. Even though that it won't guarantee Tyson Kidd a push when he returns but hopefully recognition from the fans who want to see what he can do and prove himself.

I heard about him getting shot in the head when it happened and then after awhile hearing that he was a drug addict and homeless for a few years completely crushed me. Especially with the way that he was shot, at least from the article that I read, where he stopped a woman from being raped and one of the attackers hit him. I've never been able to bring myself to watch any behind the scenes interviews with a lot of former wrestlers after that, watching Jake the Snakes "Pick your Poison" and seeing the downward spiral path that Chyna has been on. It's just been too rough to even imagine what other wrestlers may be going through.

Yeah, I agree. I thought it was interesting that his "pipe bomb" was never focused on The Rock. All the material that he was saying, up until the end where he was calling all the fans a loser, wasn't said to provoke The Rock. This "pipe bomb" was focused more on the truth about wrestlers potential and how they are used which is completely understandable.

If it makes you feel any better angelo, the chyna and jake roberts things are by far the worst.
like...the shiek ones are kinda sad, but he's apprently always been like that. The two shoots with Sandman were just him drunk, so as expected.

it's not xactly the same but it's in the same boat. breaking kayfabe and or character to further an angle that results in a wrestling match isn't much if any better. beside you used one xample that wasn't even "shooting/worked shooting" any heel could say that about cena fully in character, just because some people agree doesn't make it a shoot.

*looks around and glances at her watch, then looks back up* IT'S CLOBBERIN' TIME!!!

No, I couldn't resist. Anyways, my apologies if any of the following has already been said earlier in the thread, but my thoughts about this past Monday's RAW:

    1. I still cannot believe that they had Ric Flair 'pass down' his Figure Four to Miz. If there was anyone, ANYONE I had pegged for eventually gaining the Figure Four or having any of Flair's other major moves passed down to them, it's Dolph Ziggler. I don't know about anyone else, but Ziggler to me is practically 'Flair 2.0', sans the WHOOOOOO!'s. WWE has really dropped the ball with Flair's appearance thus far IMO...but I'm still holding out hope that they eventually make him Ziggler's manager/mentor, even if just briefly.

    2. Also can't believe that they went all out like they did for the 1,000th episode, but went all ho-hum with the 20th anniversary. As retro/legend happy as WWE has tended to be with a little more frequency the last few years, they really, honestly could not have at least Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and/or Undertaker on board?! Stone Cold's not being there did not surprise me, but huge shame on WWE for acting like he would definitely be there in what few advertisements they had for the episode.

It does, actually. Thanks, Alex. Yeah, Chyna and Jake Roberts are just terrible. I'm glad that Jake is at least trying to get clean or doing something on the right track by moving in with DDP. I think Scott Hall recently moved in with him, too. Hopefully they'll get enough self confidence and get better. I know Scott Hall has always had the drinking problem and has been in the hospital a few times. I know the Iron Sheik's daughter was killed but I never heard anything after that, I might give a look into it because I always respected him. Sandman always seemed drunk to me, ha.

I love that Fantastic Four/The Thing reference that he always does during his intro.

It's kind of a difficult situation with what they're doing with Ric Flair. I think they're still pissed about him going to TNA and then isn't that what brought up the whole lawsuit between them? When he came back for the Hall of Fame. Something like that. I think they're trying to convince people that The Miz is a good guy and just feeding him a bone kind of. I was hoping he can turn back into a heel after The Marine 3 comes out because I figured that's why he's becoming a good guy. I don't know who I would have picked for Flair to pass down the figure four to though, maybe Dolph because he needs a better submission but I wouldn't have mind Daniel Bryan but he has his Yes/No Lock. (I know Doctor X or something like that in the late 60's used the Figure Four. He actually used it the best way because he would put the person's leg above the knee. Plus, if he rolled over, it doesn't counter the hold...it actually makes it worse on the other person.) I always thought that Dolph Ziggler was a mix between a lot of wrestlers, mainly Billy Gunn and Mr. Perfect. (I heard that Dolph Ziggler actually had to get his hair cut down short that one time because he got gum stuck in his hair because he tried to imitate Mr. Perfect, that's why he doesn't do it anymore.)

It seems like the 20th Anniversary caught WWE Brass off guard. The 1,000th episode was freaking amazing compared to the 20th Anniversary. HBK and Stone Cold were actually at a Hunting Convention in Las Vegas. I think they're waiting to show Triple H and Undertaker more in March to hype up Wrestlemania. That's the reason why they didn't have Brock Lesnar, his planned scheduled dates are at the end of February, beginning of March. Even a via satellite would have been nice though from Stone Cold and/or HBK.

Agreed. Although Ziggler is more Mr.Perfect than Flair.
