Possible, but doubtful. Pelletier specifically cited working directly with Geoff Johns as his reason for leaving the security of guaranteed work at Marvel. Paul's going to be working on Aquaman for a while and he took the job because he wanted to work with Geoff. For Geoff to bail on both Aquaman and Paul Pelletier is pretty unlikely.

Then again, it honestly wouldn't surprise me to find out that he only takes 2 days to write a script, given the way his more recent works have been coming off, so I guess it's possible.
Yeah, it would be difficult but definitly not impossible for a writer of Johns talent

OK, cool. I never saw that article.

Here's the one I saw (it preceded your link) http://www.newsarama.com/comics/jms-...el-101110.html

That's where I got the whole "quitting monthlies" and "five years." As far as miniseries go? Personally, I consider them monthlies (just my opinion) because some writers/artists are still working on them before they're wrapped up, unlike the graphic novels which are a one-shot deal.

Sure, but it's JMS's intentions that are important, it's clear he means ongoings by monthlies. At least with miniseries, he has a definite beginning and end for him to plot and refine, even if it's published monthly.

It would be unlikely to be JMS since GL's now a core book for the DC. They'll want a head writer for the main title who can guide the creative direction of those characters for a good few years. I think Lemire would be an adequate replacement although I hope Morrison takes a long good crack at it once he refreshes his batteries.

JMS gets a lot more movie work now than when he was doing Spidey for Marvel and that pays tons more than comics,

They are quite respected in the comics community and recently partnered with the entire Aquaman creative team including Johns to hold a raffle for Hurricane Sandy Red Cross relief efforts in NJ. Johns donated a signed script for Aquaman #1 and all the artists contributed original pages & art.

They've also recently interviewed Young Justice's Greg Weisman and have done a lot of work with DC to promote the upcoming Throne of Atlantis storyline. Check 'em out here: http://www.aquamanshrine.com/2012/11...l#.ULqKiWf4Ids and via twitter: https://twitter.com/AquamanShrine

And still not a peep from Bleeding Cool on this announcement nor on Paul Pelletier leaving Marvel for Aquaman.

    Curiouser and curiouser...
Did some research on this. The Aquaman Shrine had been teasing for days via their twitter feed that they knew the artist that would be named to replace Reis/Prado on AQUAMAN saying things like "bold & unexpected choice" etc. When the news broke at NYCC, the Shrine announced it almost immediately again on their twitter feed and Geoff Johns almost instantly re-tweeted it from his feed:

I believe your quote was linked to that announcement and have no doubt that it was a coordinated effort.

I'm still convinced that Johns is leaving after Throne of Atlantis, unless he gets a co-writer.

I just don't see him on four ongoings at once and with this issue of Aquaman, it's clear that this is very much a "full-circle" type arc going back to the very first issue.

Well his Green Lantern seems to be coming in full force next year, with rot3a, followed by wotf, probably followed by another event that could as the finale to his epic saga, ending with GL Annual #2. you can tell that we are rolling into the ending of his saga. At that time, he will have 3 1/2 (if he is a confusing co-writer on Vibe) books, which seems a bit reasonable for the guy who does so much.

I wouldn't be surprised if Aquaman and JL/JLA become his 2 new long running sagas

Johns also stated in one of his Throne of Atlantis interviews that he "knows Orm's storyline for the next year..."
