Someone pointed out the solicit seems to be pointing out the book is ending at 300, but anyway never mind. I PM'd the moderator, but no response yet.

I dropped it at around 200, after picking it up since #11. I'm considering getting back on the Hellblazer wagon, but I haven't really heard anything about the state of the book right now.

Haha. I'm trade waiting Milligan's entire run, since it's such a pain in the ass to find the issues and I'm way behind. Hope that isn't hurting the series.

I'll say it again, Milligan and Bisley's Annual is one of the best Hellblazer story.

Milligan and co. has been killing it with Hellblazer, a bit of a slow start but once it got over that, nothing but gold.

I think he's an excellent choice, actually, providing he's willing to learn some proper English vernacular.

Greg Land on the other hand... Just no.

Constantine does need some Mamet like features.

I'm pretty sure this was first ever Hellblazer comic. Bisley rules!

I haven't read a lot, but I started reading Hellblazer at the start of the "Another Season in Hell." arc and have been enjoying this title. It might be early, but has DC/vertigo announced any plans for the #300 issue??

The last thing I want to see is Constantine saying " Oy vey!". Plus the series doesn't have enough second tier characters that can be killed off for dramatic effect.

This is Hellblazer. When has this book ever lacked for cannonfodder to be killed off? It was almost a running joke back in the day.

Would love to see a Grant Morrison "Hellblazer" run . That would be freaking awesome. The things he could think up.

Truly a sign of the apocalypse!

Anyway, I'm also a tradewaiter when it comes to this book. I've been a bit perplexed as to why there hasn't been the slightest bit of fanfare regarding #300 (most I've seen was Berger's comment at the NYCC panel about it being double-sized), but didn't translate that into cancellation.

If they do indeed end the series soon, I hope Vertigo keeps their incarnation of the character. I'm enjoying the DCnU's "Constantine-lite" well enough, but he need the darker outlet only Vertigo will provide.

How long did Hellblazer take to be a Vertigo title, anyway? How long was it a DCU book? Because Constantine-lite doesn't really seem excusable if that's the excuse. The classic version worked fine in the DCU and no reason he couldn't function and be cool in the DCnU.

Man I feel so moronic for this thread title. No moderator is responding to change it.

He doesn't like the character, apparently. There was a thinly veiled Constantine in Doom Patrol who was played for laughs.

The book started in '88, and Vertigo began in '93. There was a point when Milligan was writing both Constantines, and it worked. He would be more like the Constantine from the Swamp Thing/Delano Hellblazer than the current one, but that's fine. It's Lemire that's made him more oversimplified and "Constantine-lite."

I do hope that they don't axe the book and just stick to one DCU Constantine. I'll miss Epiphany.

Thanks. And thanks for reminding me that Milligan wrote him in both without mucking it up. Post-Milligan JLD Constantine makes me want to punch my own face. But that excuse of "well, to fit in the DC Universe" just seems inane.
