Default The Walking Dead -- Season Three "One Nation under Rick !"

As last seasons cliffhanger at the end showed , this is no longer a democracy...he makes the rules and they follow ! Now onto the season opener and skip down....

    -

    -

    - I'm not really a big fan of time jumps. In this one 6-7 months have passed for our merry gang of survivors. Skipping winter as now its spring/summer . The group has basically evolved with Rick completely in charge and everyone listening . Carol herself claims she knows he's done his best to keep them alive and better than Shane would have. The group has became a tight zombie killing unit with Glen and Carl now being more in charge and killing zombies left and right,

Another reason for the time jump is the fact Carl is aging quicker than we can see and the producers went with a time jump for that reason. At some point after season 4 , the producers will have to recast Carl more than likely due to his aging out of the role so quick.

    - I was happy they actually showed the steps the group took to clear the prison. Instead of a quick snappy solution. With Rick pushing his tired group to do what they can to get inside to better conditions.

    - Michonne was in great rare action and did an awesome job . She took out a bunch and her storyline with Andrea is a nice one I think. Bringing them together as a close combo.

    - I was happy the Governor hasn't showed up yet. I would hate to see him crammed in so quick.

    - And sadly Hershal loses his leg and has it chopped off by Rick so infection won't spread. But Hershal is bleeding out. And they discover the prisoners there.

It should be interesting to see if Hershal will die in this next episode or if he lives and becomes like Dale (on a leg).
"Heads up-- If Havok's position in UA #5 really upset you, it's time to drown yourself hobo piss. Seriously, do it. It's the only solution." - Rick Remender

    Sucks 200 character limit.

I liked this episode a lot more tha the second season premiere, I was kind of pissed off that I had to wait a whole week for the next one.

I wonder if they are going to actually kill Hershell or if chopping the bitten leg would actually work. Because if Hershell dies, they are more than fked.
...And does Mr. Goddanm Batman says so much as ''Thanks''? OF COURSE not. That'd hardly be GRIM AND GRITTY, would it?

Oh, so there is an official season 3 thread now. I'll repost what I put up on the red carpet premier thread about episode 1.

I did notice in the clips for the coming episodes Rick or someone is standing next to a grave with a wooden cross in the prison yard. Someone is going to die soon so I'd suspect it may in fact be Herschel.

All in all I did like this episode. The parts where they were clearing zombies then moving to the next area to clear more zombies seemed more like they were going through stages of a video game than a drama, but I guess it makes up for season 2 being ultra high on the soap opera aspect.

Michonne's sword is apparently made of adamantium, slicing through skulls and what not, but I'm just glad shes finally here.

Not necessarily. There are other humans alive in the prison, so it may be one of them/theirs. It's always a good idea not to take anything in the coming attractions trailer too literally.

Good premiere. I'm not a fan of the zombie genre at all, but I got looped into the show after watching part of a marathon leading up to last season's finale. Still don't care much for the gore, but the character dynamic is definitely interesting.

Thing is, it doesn't really matter what it's made of (assuming that any sword is going to be made out of a sturdy metal). The more important factor is the amount of force applied to the swing. It'd be nearly impossible to swing a katana with enough force to cut cleanly through bone with one stroke (especially on a free-standing target). That's always been my pet peeve about Wolverine being able to slice through 3 feet of steel with one stroke.

Good point but I don't think Rick (and at this point I'm not even sure if it was Rick or someone else like Glen or Daryl) would take the time to bury an inmate, they'd probably burn the body instead. I'm just guessing it's most likely someone the other characters care about.

To true. I guess it wouldn't make for good television to have to show Michonne hacking at the zombies head 3 or 4 times until it finally sliced in two... or good comics to spend 2 pages of Wolverine trying to hack through a steel door to let the team into whatever location they're infiltrating.

That's what I mean about not taking the coming attraction tailer too literally. In addition to not knowing who's in the grave, we don't know who dug it or when it was dug. It could have already been there when they arrived. All we saw in the trailer was Darryl looking at the wooden cross. A lot of potential scenarios can be spun from that.

Enjoyed the episode a lot. Great mood in the prison, and disorienting!

I liked the girls voice, but I wish they would have transposed that song over something happening.

    Excited for next week!

So in this iteration, Carl loses out on his close friendship with Sophia but instead gets shipped with a 16 year old? Talk about an upgrade there...

The little man loves him some blondes but he won't be getting any. I am going to call BS so hard if anything happens between them. Zombie Apocalypse is more belieavable.

    Hey it happened in Phantom Menace . . . . .
Price your book at $3.99 and I'll trade wait. Make me wait too long for the trade PAPERback and I'll say screw it. I'm looking at you Marvel and Spider Island.

Anyway, I loved the premiere though there was the occasional bit of PIS. They should have spent a day or two killing every walker they could through the fences before rushing into the prison.

Carl is going to get some. He'll learn to be a man , baby while Daryl will likely end up with golden oldie Carol.

I'm betting they just do more time jumps. After the prison storyline is a perfect place for a time jump, only question if the prison is just this season or will drag on into season four.
