That was pretty interesting reading. I don't read a ton of horror but I do read BRPD and the hook for me there is the cool, otherwordly characters and the mystery of the occult and other unknowns. Granted there is a lot of violence.

I also consider The Goon to be the greatest comic ever and there are horror elements and horror storylines, but honestly the book can be so freaking funny that it is hard to get to scared. I wait for interesting plot twists but more so wait for Frankie and the Goon to say something totally hysterical. There are moments when characters get killed that I feel a loss and get bummed. I will always miss Bill Mud and Norton's mom, but I always know that some crazy, humorous event is around the corner.

The article does make me want to check out some others. The writers make it seem like the horror writer can have a broader canvas to work on than some other genres.
Current Favorites: The Goon, Batgirl, Chew, Witchblade, Vibe, The Sixth Gun, Saga, Billy the Kids Old Time Oddities, Fatale, Batwoman, Talon, Storm Dogs, Earth 2, Justice League of America, Slumptown
