“A year ago he allowed his face to be cut off...and he also has a secret on Batman that’s going to come out later on,” Snyder said adding, “Joker [says to the Bat allies], ‘You don’t deserve him....I’m going to show you how he loves us more than you and he wishes you dead, and then we’re going to make you dead.’”

This. I also hate when Snyder uses this "i talk with the voice of the villain" way of talking in his interviews.

"We are awesome and we're going to show you that Gotham wasnt what you thought it was and that you're a fly to us". It makes his themes and stories seem even shallower than they already are.

He's a creator who over-hypes his work which isn't exactly atypical. I haven't seen anything by him that matches Morrison's comment that the revelation of Dr Hurt's identity was going to be the most shocking reveal in 70 years of Batman's history.

Jeez, I really don't see what the problem here is.

If you don't like Snyder's work, stop reading it. Stop reading interviews and panels about his work. Just stop. It's an easy thing to do.

ESPECIALLY when, as a Batman fan, you have a whole HOST of other options. Go read Batman Inc. Or if that doesn't float your boat, go read The Dark Knight. Doesn't do it for you? Read Detective. Not your style? Check out Batman and Robin! No good still? Batman Earth One! No? He's regularly featured in Justice League! He's got a ton of guest appearances. He's got all manner of out of continuity stories, cartoons, novels, movies, etc.

You're punishing yourselves, and you're punishing the rest of us too, for no reason.

    Thank you.

I'm all for expressing opinions, positive or negative, but this is just beating a dead horse.

“There’s things I’ve never done with Batman before that I’m doing in this storyline.” Coming from some other writer, this would just read as hype. But coming from Morrison, it's a promise. It is a good time to be a Batman fan.

Morrison has been doing this for so long that talking about "wrapping up" feels kinda surreal. I dread that day, but also can't wait to see how it ends.

Hope Layman wasn't shut out just cause he's the new kid. Detective comics 13 was an entertaining debut.

Honestly, I'm afraid Layman's run is going to be screwed over by Death in the Family. Read the newest solicits. I don't want his run screwed over by meaningless tie-ins.

Layman lives on the West Coast and has a pretty full plate what with Chew, Tec and his other projects.

    This was interesting:

    On Damien's ageing -

"Morriosn: "We'll see a lot more about Bruce and Talia, but I will never explain how he got old so fast, people can just speculate on that forever.""

He probably doesn't want to compromise his pre-FP time frame for the New 52.

The Batman book had it's entire art team present from penciler to colorist present, DC really showing the love to Snyder's team.

As someone who sees no problem with voicing opinions on various writers, I find fault with the overly sarcastic and immature comments that come from most anti-Scott Snyder posters here. Most of these discussions start deviating from writer hate over to making others feel like idiots for not enjoying (or praising constantly) a writer that they feel is a better choice. Not only do these people come off as self-entitled, but they also squander any sort of discussion from people that do actually enjoy the stories being told. I've noticed a ton of people who enjoy the Snyder stories who seem to refuse to post their opinions on a monthly basis due to the fact they find it pointless to engage in conversation with people who are so overly adamant that Snyder is apparently the antichrist of Batman writers, not to mention scaring off potential new members. Please don't take this as a personal insult as I'm only a lurker and hardly follow people by usernames and changing avatars, but more of a comment on "Why can't we express our opinions without getting backlash?!". Yes this is a street that goes both ways, but the fires always seem to start with one group in particular.
