I don't know where all this hooplah and love for Mars Attacks came from. It was an old card game, that was turned into a mediocre movie.
"Ready When You Are" - Batman
So the Judge Dredd one is just a cover? Bummer.
I'm not a big licensed property reader, but I have to admire the concept behind this one that calls for each Mars Attacks appearance to have to operate within the governing framework or "laws" of the individual comics (i.e. Popeye). Hopefully it will be a success for its given audience and will allow IDW to continue to publish their great reprint library.
I'm not a big fan of unrelated variant covers (Marvel's penchant for them comes to mind) but I would buy a pinup book of just fake variants. I am a bit disappointed that there won't be a Mars Attacks Star Trek book, or Mars Attacks Doctor Who or even Mars Attacks My Little Pony. Still, should be a fun series.

I have just seen Olive Oyl being zapped in the ass by a Martian deathray. The world is a better place now.
