Default "Arrow" Lifts CW Ratings, Most Viewed Show on the Network in Three Years

Overall I thought Arrow was pretty good and shows potential for improvement. This GA seems to be based more on Mike Grell's run on GA, which includes the graphic novel "The Longbow Hunters". It's more violent and GA actually has killed on that run. A show I will keep an eye on.

I haven't seen the series yet, but I'm definitely going to have to watch it even though it didn't especially catch my eye with the trailer. Nice to know about Supernatural though, glad it's getting the ratings it deserves(to me anyways). I wonder how Arrow will compare with the season opener of Vampire Diaries. I'm guessing it won't pull the same numbers since I think a lot of people got turned off last season by the Originals and Arrow is a brand new show. Makes me wonder how far Arrow will drop over the next few episodes and where it will average out.

I'm glad it did well in ratings. Haven't watched it due to the greed of Tribune the owners of local CW network. Going to catch it on hulu.
    Save DCU from DCNU!

Q.: How can you tell when Dan DiDio is lying?
A.: When you see his lips move.

I expect it to do pretty well. It has most of the elements common to the current CW shows that have shown legs over the last few years. It sticks pretty closely to the formula that's proven successful for the network.

You can watch the entire episode on cw.com for free right now

Anyone know what the last 'most viewed' show on the CW was before this? Smallville?

Imo? Are you kidding me? This is a CW show afterall, so they gonna have to do sth like that, but because of the intensity of storytelling and awesome score, you barely noticed them: producers are trying everything they can to minimize this kind of stuffs and it worked well.

You are ridiculous. The seas on premiere of supernatural only had 1.8million rating, after they put arrow in front of it, supernatural immediately got to 2.6million. And keep in mind that this is usually not the case where the season premiere or finale is not the highest rating throughout the season.

You may not have noticed this, but between The Avengers and The Dark Knight films, the supehero genre has become a bit of a big thing in the mainstream nowadays. More so than horror shows.
'The marquis. Well, you know, to be honest, he seems a little bit dodgy to me.'
'Mm,' she agreed. 'He's a little bit dodgy in the same way that rats are a little bit covered in fur."
