this show actually looks interesting. Klaus is still kind of a wimpy crybaby, hopefully they don't try to turn him full hero/anti-hero. They really tore his character down quickly, but I look forward to most of the characters on the Originals not being self righteous. These guys and gals seem to be firmly in the gray, if not out right bad or evil, and they don't try and pretend otherwise like some of the characters on Vampire Diaries. So hopefully this show will be more palatable to me. Marcel seems like a cool customer and more Elijah and Rebecca is always a plus. hopefully this show won't crossover with VD too much

I'm a bit confused..did Silas merely take on Stefan's form and take his place? Since it almost sounded like he said Stefan is also a doppleganger?

I also found it really messed up Bonnie would ask Jeremy to lie about her being dead(at least for the summer). Why do this? Ok I can get that she wants her friends to be happy, go to college, etc. but..that just means that once summer is over and they are all about to start living their lives they will get this huge bomb dropped on them. Wouldn't it make more sense to tell them now so they have the entire summer to deal with it?

Also was I the only one a bit disappointed with the way the Stefan/Elena/Damon thing ended? Ok, I do admit I wish she would of chosen Damon but that isn't what bothers me. It's just it seemed to kind of get resolved quickly. I'm sure it will be touched on more but we didn't even see Elena really set Stefan aside and talk to him about this and why she is making this decision. She did talk to him about thanking him for being there for her..but that is about it. He basically had to rely on super hearing.

I also just have to say I really hope we never see Klaus and Caroline hook up. I don't care if it's 200 years from now..I mean he's really done some messed up crap. True both Damon and Stefan did horrible things, but for me just the fact Klaus killed Tylers mother means Caroline should never date or hook up with Klaus unless she loses 99.9% of her brain cells.

I think that when one becomes a vampire in this show, sometimes terrible deeds are excused after a bit. Stefan excuses his brother. Elena is a killerand skates on it. The vampire state negates deep feelings about killing folks.

Well the whole thing is vampires experience all emotions in a heightened state so they can turn off their emotions. Thing is though, I actually find that to be BS. I can't think of any character who has ever once succeeded in actually doing this. Even Elena when she had hers "off" was kind of a lie..if it was truly off she wouldn't of cared when Matt was killed in front of her.

It's basically just the way they try to excuse the whole "we are all horrible people and we make serial killers look like upstanding members of society". At least in the latest episode Elena flat out admitted Damon was a horrible person and her choosing him was all kinds of stupid. Then again..if I leap off the top of the Sears Tower, but tell people before hand I know it's stupid it doesn't make it any less stupid. It actually kinda makes it infinitely more retarded.

Your clip shows scenes from the "Originals" episode which has nothing to do with Silas. Assuming you mean Klaus: he can only turn werewolves into hybrids(this was only after he lifted his curse). These werewolves will not survive the hybrid transformation unless they are given Elena's blood soon after being turned. Any human he turns will just be a vampire.

The hook for the show was always the triangle.

And it's true that Klaus killed Tylers mom... but Damon killed Elena's mom. These are just very forgiving people. I wouldn't exactly say Elena developing a relationship Damon is stupid.

Ignoring relationship stuff for a second, from a purely practical stand point he's come in pretty handy in protecting her and occasionally protecting the world. Damons likely going to be a threat to people no matter what... but when he's with Elena he's considerably (not not entirely) neutered. And while there are certainly downsides to having Damon around, the good outweights the bad most of the time by a pretty good margin.

So it's risky at times, but not entirely stupid. He certainly came in handy when dealing it was time to take down Silas. That alone puts a good deal of checks in the plus column.

How could she be cured though? The cure is gone. Granted it's always possible another plot device could come up for another cure. After all a witch did create the cure. In fact wait I don't get why Bonnie didn't even seem to entertain the idea of asking Ketsia how to make the cure?

That also makes me wonder..we know witches can link two people together. I'd wonder if they could cure multiple people with a single cure dose this way. In fact I am surprised this wasn't brought up before when they first found out it was only a single dose.

I don't think you can compare what Damon did to what Klaus did. First off Damon didn't kill Isabelle, she killed herself..twice actually. The first time is when she went to him to beg him to turn her into a vampire. She technically "died" but was still walking and talking afterwards and remember the important part is she specifically sought it out. Then as a vampire she flat out killed herself. Also Damon didn't even really know Elena when he did that and on top of that Elena really didn't know her as anything other then a cruel vampire. Compare that to Klaus who murdered Tyler's mom and it's not like she came back as a vampire afterwards or otherwise sought it out. Not only that, but he knew full well what doing that would do to Caroline and knew full well Tyler's mom was loved a lot by her family and that it was the only family Tyler had left.

As for it being stupid for Elena to be with Damon..oh I agree he is certainly helpful to keep around. But that is the thing: he seems better as a bodyguard then a boyfriend. She'd definitely be stupid to cut him from her life completely given there is always some supernatural threat looming around the corner.
