I believe all that needs to be said has been. So here’s my two cents.”-- ScottMC, inadvertently summing up the Internet.
I am liking the cover. His crouched pose creeps me out, but in a good way.
"Superior" as the latest Spidey adjective will take a little getting used to but I love the idea of Slott writing a darker Spidey book and the art team is top notch. I have faith that this will be great. Bring it on!
I have to say, that logo is great. Stegman as the lead artist is also a good choice.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!
yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm so excited![]()
Awesome news!!! Slott, Stegman, Ramos and Camuncoli!
I wonder if Peter is still Spider-Man.
Not sure what to make of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to buy the ever living shit out of it because Slott on Spider-Man just works for me, but I'm not sure which direction to assume.
It does sound like Peter will remain Spider-Man. As ambiguous as Slott is trying to be, there's quite a few quotes in the USA Today article that heavily imply Peter will still be Spider-Man.
I'm going to latch on to the popular theory of the bulk of his powers being removed. Losing his powers would leave him in a position where he'd have to be more ruthless (Less margin for error) and it would account for the necessity of those claw feet (To facilitate wall crawling).
It also plays into the fact that, during the course of his run, Slott's made Spidey learn kung fu, lose his Spider sense and utilize tech more and more often. It could all have been building towards a powerless Spider-Man, something that has never happened before to the best of my recollection (At least in terms of a long running arc as opposed to the occasional one and done where he loses them and turns in to the Incompetent Spider-Man). It does seem like that's where we've been going.
Different strokes for different folks.

Alright, I'm pretty sure this thread could be safe from a big pointless racism arguemnet. Art is awesome. Can't wait for AsM 700 (mainly to see if I'm right about Aunt May dying and/or Spidey killing Oc). Don't see any big deal about the logos, it's not like it affects the story.

If you're gonna put claws on Spidey, this would have been a perfect opportunity to introduce a great character like Miguel o'hara back into mainstream comics, but instead went with the most generic, lowest common denominator choice with Alpha. Marvel doesn't care about brown people.
