Did I miss something in the article? It said "event" multiple times, but it sounds like it's just a storyline in XO??? When I hear event I think of a storyline that touches multiple books or is itself a book. Don't get me wrong, I'm psyched for this, just not sure why they'd label it as an event...

Well, totally not really an event, but sounds completely awesome anyway. I suppose it's important to market stuff with event-speak these days...

So awesome, though! A minor quibble I have with X-O is that the greyer metal on the covers looks better than the bright blue and yellow interiors. But the book has been consistently amazing and I'm glad that Alric gets to sack something. He really did miss his chance.
Looking for artists, know I won't find any. That blows.

I cant wait to read this. I am continually surprised and impressed by all the Valiant titles. Warren Simons could be the best editor in comic's right now. This team of writer's and artists they've gathered is spectacular.

When did "a story arc" become a "mini-event"?

Good catch. It is also an homage to the original XO Manowar #6 with Ax in the Commando Armor smashing Aric through a brick wall.

As far as being an "event" I believe Marvel started the mini-event in recent years like Minimum Carnage for example or Code Red. And Warren did say the book will have implications across the line.

Aside from the eventual Kieron Gillen book involving Kid Loki, by November or so my Marvel pull list will be non-existent. I might even be collecting more Valiant titles than DC titles in a month or two.

I think its a way to put more hype on it and by calling it an event, it'll sell more. Thats my guess and I have no problem with the term.

One of my fav covers ever getting an homage cover in the new XO. I hope I can reserve the new Cary Nord version at my LCS.
