    Default Point of Impact, #1

A gripping, provocative four-part crime series from acclaimed writer JAY FAERBER and stunning new artist KORAY KURANEL begins with one woman's murder and branches out to follow the investigation by three people with personal connections to her: her husband, an investigative reporter; her lover, an ex-soldier; and her friend, a homicide detective. Her death will change all of their lives.

Really looking forward to this. Loved Jay's Near Death, shame it got canned. Hopefully this does better. Art looks great too!

I'm so pleased with this title! From the cover-as-opening-panel through to the end, I was happy reading it, and SO glad to have a black and white title available again--they've been so far apart and few between, seems there hasn't been a decent b&w since early Sin City. And, in fact, this one's done really well! I thought the dialogue seemed genuine, NO narration (I really dislike most narration I've read in comics: the big exception being Master of Kung Fu!), and what's going on was conveyed well through the dialogue. The confusing parts began to fit together toward the end of the issue, and make rereading worthwhile. Inter-relationships are complex (and to those involved, unknown at the moment) and promise a lot of 'plot' to come. Glad glad glad I took a chance on this one!

And, actually, I tried to communicate this to Image and the creators, but have found it really hard to do so-- anyone know how/where one can write a letter-col type letter to an Image comic? Image.com seems not very conducive to that.... thanks.

Any of the series that run letters columns contain instructions in the back of the books. Many do. Invincible, Spawn, Walking Dead, Savage Dragon, Li'l Depressed Boy all do off the top of my head. I've seen others as well. Keep in mind that whether there is a letter column or not is at the discretion of the owner/creator and not Image. For this title in particular you could ask your question to the writer Jay Faerber on his subsection of the imagecomics.com forums. He's very responsive in talking to fans that post there.

Got to say, I really enjoyed this as well. It reminded me of AMC's The Killing which had a pretty similar premise as this, but this is written SO MUCH BETTER and from a different angle!! That show was such a slow show to go through and holding off on the whodunit angle for so long that I am glad we don't have this here. We know who did the killing of the girl, but its her secrets and relationships to these people that are going to drive the story here and to me I find that more intriguing. And the art was fantastic too!! Great find with Koray Kuranel! Definitely will be looking forward to the rest of the mini.

Definitely enjoyed the issue and especially loved that the cover was the first page; reminds of Kindt and Ware.
