forgot about prodigy. I've always been indifferent about him. I was happy a black character was a front runner in a X-book. But his power set sucked :/ they'd be a interesting couple though. he's sorta like old cyclops. But not as corny?

I don't know if the choice will involve Jean Grey's love life at the moment, but I think it'll definitely have something to do with why the Original Five are staying in the future. Bendis did say that they'll be sticking around long term. Right now, their focus is only on stopping present day Cyclops. If I had to speculate, I would say the choice involves them staying in the present after this battle. As for what Jean Grey does in her love life, Bendis also said seeing what Cyclops becomes will change Jean's opinion about him. So I'm thinking she's going to want some distance. As for her hooking up with someone else, I think that would be moving a bit too fast. It didn't work out for her character in X-men Forever. I don't want Bendis repeating that mistake in All New X-men. But given how Marvel has butchered some characters in the past, I'm not completely convinced they won't try to do something like that with Jean Grey.

There is a lot of choices teen Jean will have to make, least of them about her love life....she is a teenager, and now she know what her future hold, she know that she turn out to be the good girl, she sacrified herself for scott and her friends, she behaved like the perfect girl, done what people expected from her....and where did that lead her???to be the statue of a dead girl on the front yard of a school....the love of her life cheated on her and she kept dying for others... so this time around she might want to be a bit less the perfect girl, she will consider that doing what is right didn't lead to an happy ending for her...as a teenager she might try a different road this time....

Now, imagine that teen jean meet Emma...how will she look at Emma, similar power, but Emma always went for the egoist choice, she had no moral dilema using her power to make her life better, to get what she wanted, despite being the bad girl, Emma seem to have more of an happy ending than Jean, she got her man(ok until recently) is now respected and the alpha female of the x-men...so teen Jean might think that it was all a big waste of time to be the good girl, and that ultimately it's the bad girl who have all the fun...this might not last because deep down Jean is the good girl type, but I could see her being quite angry about how everything turned out and try to be a bit more of a bad girl for a while....

Because comics are soap operas. Relationships are what drive the narrative. Not rote buttkicking, that gets old real fast.

There's got to be some identifiability, some human emotion, some vulnerability. Otherwise, why even pay attention for more than a few issues?
