I'm sorry to hear that. :( I'm a Girl Scout troop leader and our girls usually do something for the military coming into the holidays. If you can give me the address privately once you have it, we'll ship out a package of cards and treats for him and his unit. Obviously, I'll collect the items from the girls and send it out, I won't share private information.

I know. Cards and cookies and whatnot don't really cut it for you, and I'm sure wouldn't do a damn thing for him tonight. I'm just.. well, scatterbrained, and when Tadhg came in and told me your kid's shipping out; I wanted to make sure I didn't forget to come back later. I've been researching stuff that's often asked for and shipping deadlines and restrictions and the like. If there's something specific he or his buddies would like, we'll do our best on that, too. (Also, if there are women in his unit, we'll send Girl Things too.)

Edited to add: All of which is a long way of saying I hope he comes through okay and I can't imagine trying to deal with that and there's nothing I can really do... except this. So, if it's cool, would like to do this.

Probably. Any such like also Nordic sounding outbursts especially when grunted or audibly whispered would be to speed up your orders like when standing at the baker's or such.

Quoting literature might do a lot of good, like Whitman or Hemingway, Hugo or Voltaire or Rimbaud or even Kafka, when done correctly.
No Dutch 'though, as such would mostly be raising giggles.
Eventhough Shakespeare could be to nip any romance right in the bud if put forward all-too casual-like. Pretty weird how that would work.
