From my MicroTeaching class, the reasoning is that you're not one to play a passive role in the classroom. You are to be dynamic, using the whole classroom as your stage and command the attention of the students. Keep the stimulus up, if you will. Sitting behind a desk and giving cathedra from there encouraged the students to drift away and disconnect.

That sounds like a good idea as a general rule, but saying YOU CAN NEVER SIT DOWN is taking it too far.

Man, all my webcomics are in some sort of hiatus:

Questionable Content busted his (non-drawing) hand after drinking heavily and needs to have surgery.
Goblins busted his computer and is getting a replacement.
The Order of the Stick busted his hand around a month ago and is still in recovery.
Erfworld's artist is still mourning her mom (her 1 year anniversary was around 2 weeks ago).

Tough times, all around.

I very rarely sat down during my own classes, yeah, but I wouldn't condemn a teacher for doing so. I would encourage him to spend more time standing up than sitting down.
