I'm usually a big fan of that particular writer (whose name I won't mention), but this one really didn't do it for me.

An added "Huh?" from me to any making that claim. It's just the longest. Heck, I think I remember preferring the de Camp/Carter version in "Conan the Conqueror", but it's been so long since I've read either I don't remember the specifics.Winslow horrifies me:

I have the same problem with The Silmarillion. That book is fucking impossible to read.
It's a fine book of notes, fragments and background stories. As a narrative? Um, no.'Dox out.
