Holy crap that sounds AMAZING. My hype meter is about to max out!
I might be willing to go into cryogenic sleep, here...

Forget anything new 52 related, this is the DC project for me.
I literally can't wait for it...my only worry is that the unannounced artists meet the high standard set by those already confirmed.
This sounds like Morrison's big love letter send off to the DCU. I'm sure it's going to be worth the wait.
He's building on the multi-dimensional layers of these universes within universes that makes DC so great.
And then it ends with Captain Atom sacrificing himself to save the Multiverse, and his energy ends up powering up the Intrinsic Field Generator that turns Osterman into Dr Manhattan.

Wait, what world is Earth-Prime?
Every time I read "black Superman" I can only think of these horrible cocktails my friend orders whenever we're at the bar...
Anyway, really looking forward to this!![]()
DJ Sweet (who asked what world is Earth-Prime):
According to GMo, it's our world. In the 70s it was always referred to as "our world" as well, until a hero named Ultraa turned up. And then Superboy-Prime. If memory serves, from that point on it was 'merely' a world that didn't have superheroes before Ultraa.
So, is NuDCU now Earth-1?
And then DC fired all their great talent and got people like Liefeld to write.originally the notion was when "Multiversity" started, it was going to be the whole bunch of us, the "52" team, were going to write these books. Greg Rucka was going to do the Charlton one, Mark Waid was going to do something else, we were going to farm these out. Then it ended up that it didn't work that way and I had the project, so I ended up developing it.
One of the first ideas I had was, I said to Greg, wouldn't it be great if you just did this real dark espionage comic and what we did with the Charlton characters kind of referred to the fact that most people are more familiar with the Charlton characters and the iteration that became "Watchmen?
Nicely done.
Sounds freaking good. Man if this is the first time Morrison isn't doing a jazz improv and is actually planning and refining this story...I can't even imagine what to expect.

Oh my God I can't wait for this. :) :) :) :) :)
It's not a major point for most people but I'm glad that Morrison has said he's combining all the steampunk worlds into one. I love the look of steampunk but in the the 52 universes, having both Amazonia and Gotham By Gaslight be full-fledged worlds, for example, seems a waste of a world that could represent a genre/storytelling style/setting. I'm fine with sacrificing one of the Jack the Ripper stories to just have a cohesive DC Steampunk world.
