I'm still not sold on the art, but that's a good Karma (it is her, right?). They should keep focusing on her.
Should have stuck to Walta for the flashbacks, but my appreciation of Hatchi transcends such trivial details.

I suspect this is a Hatchi flashback, but really hope it's for Karma. Xi'an is in the top ten of X-Men who need an updated origin story.
I think it's about Hatchi, we see a dead woman (her mother?) on the floor and it just doesn't fit Karma's story. Maybe Shan is just narrating it to the others..?
Anyway, the art looks better.
Yeah that definitely looks like Hatchi's origin story. Hopefully in telling it, we get some more of Karma's background as well. I wonder if her pops sold her or give her away after her mom died as Karma hinted in this past issue she didn't have their father around. The biggest unanswered question seems to be why now after all these years. Hopefully that gets addressed before this is over.
It's hard for me to listen to people not in my position. A caterpillar can't relate to what an eagle envisions.
Walta needs to take over this book full stop.
edit: uh, that fightscene is lifted full stop from Alan Davis Reload run (Kurt vs Sage)?!

What, no one's interested in tracing unless it's Land doing it? Where's my X-Board outrage?

When Perkins makes a career of it, claims falsely that he lifted the images with Davis' blessing, or gets Marvel sued by the Spanish royal family, I'll be fussed to do more than say "yeah, that's some pretty blatant referencing". Because it is obviously a swipe, but it's also got some pretty big shoes to fill on the outrage-o-meter and it looks like #55 is going to be his last issue anyway.
Also, your first link got cut off at the end.
