Well, maybe now they'll just shoot drug dealer guy. Still don't know why they haven't done that by now.

Free your soul and let it fly....
Well damn, that sucks.
My only complaint with the series is that we've only seen one of the bad guys from the White House. They're barely even abstract concepts, besides Brennan.
I, too, thought it was a failing of the writers to have not dealt a little more with what is going on back in Washington. Nobody even seems to talk about it.
And even more of a head-scratcher, after Lt. Grace's dad shot and killed someone on the very island, it was not mentioned by anybody! Wouldn't Grace have been told that her dad went berserk and was taken off the island in custody?
It's almost like the writers were still trying to figure out how to handle the coup in D.C. . . . . and now (with the cancellation) it seems they've lost their chance!
Don't know about FX, but an HBO-quality level show this was certainly not.
Can't say I'm surprised at its cancellation. Started rather strong, but I lost interest pretty fast with the implausible behaviours and interactions. The acting wasn't that good either, except of course for Andre Braugher and in part Robert Patrick. But the storylines and characters got me bored a few episodes in.
Grace being told about her dad is the very last scene of that episode. We dont see a later reaction to it but we do know she was told.
And i liked the fact that there is no face to the enemy because when you do see some one fighting it out with these people you dont if they know or if they are just blind on the situation. That's, like, one of the main themes of the show, resisting this conspiracy but not pushing that hard or else you might hurt people that are totally innocent.
The problem though is that we've seen more of the resistance (Grace's dad, the black ops team, that weapons lady, etc) than we have of the bad guys themselves. So it's not as if we're anywhere near as blind as the people on the island.
And while I like how some expectations were defied (like Sam's wife figuring out the agent angle), we need to see some faces and victories by the bad guys to keep the plot moving.
Besides the fact that they have the whole country believing that this rogue crazy captain that went on off his head and bombed Pakistan successfully accomplishing their plans almost perfectly, the main storyline of the show, we got the whole weapon lady storyline. In there we saw that they got the data of the prototype stealth thingy and we saw that they got to the dude she was messing around with, "You are not one of us," and we also saw that they got to her dad. Who was the dude who stole the data for the bad guys.
Thanks for the correction.
I'm not surprised I missed it -- they talk so fast and throw so many names around that sometimes I feel like I'm only absorbing about 80% of it!
Like I'm still confused about the geological test the French woman ran -- is there valuable oil on the island? She's the hardest one to understand of them all!
I get the feeling it'll be picked up by a cable network, and will have 10-13 episode seasons from then on out.
Better the devil you know. He's essentially the kingpin of the criminal element on that island, get rid of him someone worse could take his place. Plus any retaliation for his death would be swiftly dealt with but even still they don't need the hassle right now unless its absolutely necessary. Plus a recurring villain who's a bit layered is always nice.
I have this idea for the next X-teme Games Gold Medal Event--Bear Tickling. Its like Bull riding but more X-treme! You are timed on how long you can tickle a bear before he attacks you.

This is why i usually watch TV with subtitles, if i miss something for any reason i quickly try to read it to catch it.
Yeah that was some random story element that has not been continued.Like I'm still confused about the geological test the French woman ran -- is there valuable oil on the island? She's the hardest one to understand of them all!
The crime lord dude was convinced to buy all that testing equipment by her partner but since he left the crime lord forced her to use it to see if there was something on the island. That's pretty much all there is to it. Maybe that was the build up for something that was going to happen later on.
