Valerio has some really unique designs.
Definitely looking forward to this.
Me too. The details must be a pain for the artist but I love it.
The art is going to be amazing, definitely.
I haven't really read anything by Immonen, though I know she has her fans. I just feel the book is a bit directionless. "Be a better warrior" seems incidental to any heroic character worth their salt. But maybe Immonen is just playing coy until the book arrives and we'll really get a sense of where the story is going.
Not to be a downer or anything. I know my girlfriend is interested in checking out this book, so I'll probably read it too.
Good luck!
The art has me interested in picking it up. Hopefully the writing will match.
There are a few things I'm really hoping for.
I hope Schitti's in for the long-term. I hope that Marvel has an idea for a capable fill-in (they WILL double-ship). I hope that Immonen writes a compelling story. While there's no overall story planned, I'm interested in the ideas she plans on exploring. I hope that the character interactions are engrossing. I hope that readers really give this book a shot, especially if it turns out to be quality.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!
This may continue to be the book to beat. Kathryn really has me interested in a Sif story I want to read, and not about the servile concubine that Fraction gave us in his Thor.
There are four stages of matter. Solid. Liquid. Gas & Don't. It's science.
I am a male. Deal with it.
SO EXCITED!!!!![]()
"I don't know how to please you Lord, but I think the fact I try to please you, pleases you."
Marvel likes to double ship. Sure, it was cool when only Ultimate Spider-Man did it, but that was because Bagley is the Flash and it was only one book. Spreading it line wide is just annoying. Combined with the high price point and low page count of a lot of Marvel books, you really have to wonder how sustainable their publishing strategy is. I'd personally rather they allowed the creators to take their time and have the books come out every month, like comics are supposed to. The rush to double ship has to hurt the quality and the high price has to hurt the sales, so it's a lose-lose thing, I think.
That said, I like the sound of this and might check it out in trade. Immonen has done stuff I've liked and it's always nice to see Women leading Marvel books, however rare.
Looking for artists, know I won't find any. That blows.
The art looks interesting (though i wonder why Sif is carrying a book with her into battle), and I've enjoyed most everything I've read from Immonen, so I may give it a shot.

Maybe not out of the gate, but I'm fairly sure it will get there eventually. That said, don't let that deter you from trying the first arc or issue. Also, some books double-ship more than others. Ultimate X-Men double-shipped a few times, whereas I don't think Ultimate Spider-man double-shipped at all and if it did, it was like once.

Yesterday I was searching for new press about Kathryn's run on JiM...
I am jumping on once Kathryn takes over, I knew the art would be good, just not this good.
Wowza. I am looking forward to the Sif-flavored JiM big time. Love the concepts, character designs (I'd wear Sif's casual red outfit in a heartbeat) and those creatures. Eager to see Valerio's Heimdall and the killers (berserkers?) Sif hooks up with. Kathryn may not have a map, which is fine by me since she mentions many things that make me eager to read her take on Sif.
November can't get here fast enough.
Wake me up when it's over...
Love the art! I too hope we don't get screwed on the art by double shipping, or as Kathryn Immonen says, he leaves for another book.
Kathryn Immonen disappointed me with the Namor AvX VS story, but that's the first time -- her other work has always been entertaining. I wish she had more of an overriding plan, like Gillen, but I'm very happy to hear she's going to expand a bit on Sif and deliver on the characterization. This is definitely one of the MarvelNOW books I'm looking forward to.
