Some super powers don't really make sense. Her diamond form has always been describe as indestructable, except for the mystery weak spot and has only been broken by other means twice (Sinister and Thor). She was meant to be a prettier shiny version of Colossus.

Probably around the area where Emma escapes or somehow we'll find out in UXM

    Lead is not magnetic.

But seriously, the common law enforcement blokes in comic universes deserve infinitely more credit than they get. You figure they have to deal with superpowered threats on a daily basis, and have to train their asses off constantly, not to mention they are likely possessed of an unnatural devotion to duty and incomprehensible fearlessness just to be able to stand their ground against your average metahuman. Contrast that with your typical superhero, who likely had greatness thrust upon them, so to speak, and are usually so wracked by crippling insecurity and emotional imbalance that it's a miracle most of them even survive a week after getting their powers.

If I ever did want to bed someone with a Y chromosome, a guy like Peter is probably who I'd have eyes for. Woof.

    ------------------------------

Speaking of bizarre diamond powers, did anyone here ever read this?

I mention it because Paige uses her powers to turn into a diamond form and starts chasing after Angelo. But they're interrupted by Penance (the girl whose skin could cut you to ribbons with a single touch) who takes the opportunity of Paige's brief invulnerability to giver her a hug. I barely knew the characters and I still "Dawwed!" Even Emma got sappy over it.

Also when all the diamond chips fell off Paige Sean used them to buy the kids sports equipment. Fun times.

That was brought up many times in Husk discussions. Paige and Emma share a lot in common after all. One could say her latest outfit emulates Emma's past ones even.

Just discovered there was another book I never read where the Gen X team does battle on top of Mount Rushmore. This kind of thing doesn't happen nearly enough these days.

Love the cover! I really hope to read comics-based novels of Generation X! And it's said to be fantastic.

The first one I posted was alright I suppose, but not particularly compelling since most of the team doesn't do much in favor of some new kid created specifically for that story spoilers:
and so he could die by the end of the book
    end of spoilers

The Newsarama review for the issue makes me somewhat happy for the series. I can't believe it's finally going to come out! And tomorrow. Wow.
