Am I the only one who thinks this Doom in girl form is something Victor also engineered?

Looks awesome. Fun to see a Merged Hulk back again however briefly it might be.

Oh, gee whiz...that's the only logical explanation for Amanda. I'd originally assumed she was some love child from Valeria, except I don't know how we could have gone all these years without knowing that Valeria and Vic had a kid that she just dumped somewhere.

-Except- that if Doom were going to engineer a daughter, he'd give her a much better personality than Amanda has shown. Heck, even the Red Skull put a load of work into educating Sin. Doom's daughter, I'd expect would act more like Talia al Ghul than a sex fiend. Doom just wouldn't stand for this, out of pure ego.

Think of it this way, the worst is behind us and the light at the end of the tunnel is oh so close.

I don't think it's so brief. Based on the description of Indestructible Hulk, he may be sticking around

Holding out for a Peter/Miles team up.

I find it fascinating that when a guy is unabashedly sexual, he's seen either as a stud or a jerk, but if a female is this way, she's just a "whore" or "slut". I can see people complaining about Amanda having an abrasive personality, but the double-standards on this particular character's libertine attitude towards sexuality is fascinating to watch. Personally, I would tone down Amanda's disposition a bit so that the story mechanics isn't so jarring, at any rate...

There have been parts of this story I liked and ALOT of parts I hated. I'll be glad when issue 15 comes out and we hit the restart button with Marvel NOW!

We can see from looking at Kristoff that Doom probably didn't have much input in Amanda's upbringing. I really can't see how she can be his daughter unless he had one time hook up with someone before he went to the US. Didn't that one flashback say her mother died in that Latverian prison? Doom hasn't been in power long enough for her to have been born after his overthrow of the previous regime. Yet it's claimed that she is a Von Doom. The other prisoners said she was at least when she was an infant.
"...Doom's enemies have not the mettle to challenge him host to host, tooth to nail... As economic and military options fail them, they resort to simple rudeness."

It's how she's written along with the story mechanics. No doublestandard here. She comes off like that wolf cartoon character that says hubba hubba.

That seems unlikely, especially with what we've seen of her.

Except that in her backstory, we see that she was born to a woman that was in a Latverian prison.

OK, easy answer: Doom impregnated some woman in a Latverian prison ("it's for the good of your country!"), then rapidly aged Amanda to adulthood.

In fact, that's pretty much Sin's origin (although I think current Captain America writers prefer to avoid that part).

This series is just plain horrible.

I doubt it and it doesn't seem like she's his daughter either.
