The comment about Elementals is disappointing but not surprising. The original series was really special, years ahead of its time. The quality slipped in the second series, and those Sex Specials suffered from a lethal combination of bad writing and bad artwork.
Although I've enjoyed the Fables series, it seems like the series has been missing something since the Empire was defeated. I've read the first two Fairest trades and enjoyed them both, but didn't enjoy most of the Jack of Fables run. The Jack crossover with Fables was so bad that it brought both comics down for a while.

Although I had no illusions about Elementals ever returning, after reading the subject line of this thread, my heart skipped a beat. Hands down my favorite series of all time! Hopefully someday the guy that owns the rights to Elementals will change his mind and give Mr. Willingham a call.
