Regardless, I love the style JH uses to show Kate as a kid.

Man if they used the same coloring for all the series I couldn't resist picking up the series. In Elegy too I found the art in the origin/flashbacks so much better. This outworldly colouring in the action sequences puts me of a little.

It's deliberate, of course, but I can see why it's offputting. I like it, personally, but I see where you're coming from.

Frankly, I think this already looks like the best #0 issue the Batfamily has to offer. It helps that Kate has marginally less they can screw up in terms of history, but this looks good, even if it is just partly a 'fill in the blanks' story for 'Go'.

As for the script, this reads better than I expected. I got #1 but it didn't grab me. But after this preview, I might get the first trade.

The only point where the book has been a little rickety was the second arc, so far - but even that had the excuse that it was an experimental storytelling technique that didn't quite work out on a month to month basis.

According to Rucka, they are, at the moment, working off notes he left behind, and the only thing they're holding off on is a story explaining how Beth became Alice. As it is, I disagree; This might be based on what Rucka did in 'Go', but the dialogue and the like is still solid.

The story looks very good. I like how they set the story up, supposedly being Kate's tape message to her dad. Really well done and heartwarming.

Wow, that looks amazing. I haven't been following Batwoman because I read on the iPad -- I found that the lush art and complex layouts didn't translate well to that format. But I will be putting this issue on my list.

I cannot wait for this and I to heard that they are going off of Rucka's notes still so this will in fact be the best #0 thus far. I cannot wait until next Weds. Even if it is a retelling and fill in the blanks I love it. Batwoman is the best Bat-character right now, IMO.
