Definately looking forward to this. Out of all the Marvel characters Wolverine and perhaps Spider-Man have the most convoluted history, things retconned, bad ideas come and gone (and some still here). To see a Wolverine with a clean slate will be refreshing. Especially one without ties to the X-Men as far as we know. I've always liked his Samurai, honor-code side among the best of his personality traits and background info. I always thought he worked best in Japan or Madripoor so it's nice to see Wolverine Max go down that path from the beginning....
That name sounds straight out of a Bruce LaBruce production.
I'm really looking forward to this series, but I would have liked to see more details with this. Jason Starr has a pretty clean slate to work with in the MAX line. He could do anything with Wolverine for the most part. I like that he's choosing Japan as the setting, given that this is where the movie will take place. It'll be interesting to see the twists he puts on these characters in addition to the extra violence.![]()

X-men Supreme
I really hate that this is a 3.99 book. I'd be all over it if it wasn't for the extra buck. I've been waiting for this series for years.
If Wolverine MAX is going to emphasize a "Loner" aspect to Logan complete with memory loss ~ one difference that I'd settle from the get-go is have this version to be a sort of "rotational (some-of-the-time but not-all-of-the-time) member" of the X-Men. He's got his own thing to which he accords priority. His arrangement with the Charles Xavier and the X-Men would be that he'll help out on occasion and his membership status should reflect that thinking. As a result, due to this sort of agreement, those resources aren't necessarily always available if needed. Consequently, he would be shown to be more of a mystery than ever.
While this sounds good, please get rid of some other Wolverine title, cuz this is way too much overkill now. It was ridiculous before, this is just getting downright absurd!!!!!!!!!..............
Cyclops was RIGHT!
Adults struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life when the answer is obvious to the smallest child: because it's not real. - Grant Morrison
