Oh man. I don't mind the Glory price bump. I actually enjoy the reboot. Joe Keatinge and Ross Campdell make a great team. Would you guys do me a favor and buy the next issue, possibly selling it out, to keep this book alive? Alright, thanks.
I'll probably be ordering the first trade this week, and if I like it I'll check out the latest single. The art is really unique and captivating.
Campdell is cool. I totally enjoyed his rendition of Leonard in the TMNT micro-series.
I guess I'm the only person who bought the first issue of Glory and promptly dropped it because I didn't want to look at the art ever again. I really don't like the art in that book.
Anyone who thinks DC is bringing back the Silver Age doesn't know what the Silver Age is.
There is no such word as "persay," it's per se, two words, from the Latin.
Daaaamn. Glory's end is in sight already? That's heavy, the first volume is barely out. However, we can only take Joe at his word; if the natural end is there, then it's there. Also, I cannot wait for Ross to start on Shadoweyes volume 3 so there's that.
I still really want to be vocal though, that I'm not sure a dollar price bump is the right or fair reaction to low sales. I really don't want that to be a trend, and while I love the book, I kind of hope that isn't a successful experiment. If they had at least waited to see how trade sales went, I would have less of a reaction to it, but if you say "right, XXX comic will be available in single print, single digitally, and in trade volumes" you've told fans buying via trade is a fine and viable way to support the book. This move just feels like a punishment for not buying in singles. But whatever. Great book, and can't wait to see more, that's what really matters.

Glory is currently one of my favorite books. I've been buying it since the reboot started and have been loving every second. It is sad that the end is in sight. Do we know what issue number it might be wrapping at?
I also don't mind the dollar increase. I'm not crazy about it, but I understand it from a business perspective.
I was also really looking forward to that Thanos mini. Shame it got shelved.
Couldn't agree more.
Both of these books are fantastic. Andre and Ross are both amazing artist.
I hope Glory is able to make it to 12 issues. Also, Hell Yeah is getting better and better. Its just a shame that retailers won't order these lesser known indie books unless you pre-order it. let your retailers know how awesome they are.
Spread the word!
Glory's one of my favorites too. And I originally checked it out solely because I saw that first cover and was intrigued by a book starring a huge, muscular female lead as opposed to what we normally get in superhero comics. I'm glad that Ross has been able to take the character in the direction he's wanted visually without much intervention as the series has progressed.
It's going to be a sad day when it ends, probably sooner rather than later, but I'm kind of glad they had a finite story in mind. So many comics nowadays just seem to tread water and not have an ending in mind, or something happens that cuts the run short and the story doesn't end as intended. If a price hike is what it takes to reach the ending they want, then so be it, I guess.
I can't help but feel like the book would have been more successful if it had been released as Glory #1 instead of Glory #23. The same goes for all the Extreme relaunch books. Even if they didn't technically throw out all the previous continuity with these characters, it's not like you needed to have read #1-22 to understand Glory's story nowadays. It'd probably be detrimental given the vast chasm between the styles of the old series and the new.
So, which is the latest number of Glory? Here in Germany i only got issues 23-25 so far...
Glory is one of the best books out easily. Not as good as Prophet but I'd never expect in a million years a Liefeld character to be interesting. Keatinge has been influenced by Moore's work on the character but he's made it his own.
This (and Prophet) is why we can't have nice things.
