I dont like him. period, I dont like anything about him. And I'll tell you why.

1 : It feels like DC is just pandering to a group of people with him. He's just so stereotypical Arabian and nothing like the ones I know. The gun and tattoos show him to be some kind of military history, and I just feel like hey's this aggressive nut by what I've seen.

2 : That being said, I have nothing against Arabians, and if he didnt have the gun, the tattoo, and had a different build, I'd be fully behind him. Maybe some kind of college student who came over and is trying to get a degree?

3 : This is my Big issue. Why the hell does every human GL have to be American? Why not Japanese, or Chinese, or from India? Why not a GL from the UK?

4 : And WHY NOT A WOMAN!? Seriously. Why not a Human Woman. Could present her next to all the male JL characters, and it just adds more Diversity.

DC Dropped the ball on this one. Its the same pandering recycled crap they have always done.

I disagree. You're just being picky. 1 new character can't fix all of comics problems. It takes more. It also takes more then one series trying. And this series has done something positive

Someone needs to drink their coffee this morning.

1.The people are called Arabs not Arabians. You would use Arabian to describe a horse or a peninsula. Or people from Saudi Arabia would be Saudi Arabians.
2. He's Arab-American. To be specific Lebanese-American. The tattoo is a taboo for Muslims so he's not devout. The gun is because he's currently a car thief.
3. DC Comics is American centric. Not saying that's right but the majority of heroes will be American or living in America. Foreign characters will be a drop in the ocean. No amount of complaining will change that.
4. There are more than a few women in the GLC. The last human GL was Jade. Hopefully someday we'll get another one. Just chill!

I'm not quite sure what the stats are on this, but I'm inclined to believe that the percentage is near perfect that students coming over aren't "trying" to get a degree. I can't see how trying is even in the realm of possibilities, since that kind of implies some sort of possibility of failure in an underdog sort of way. The standards and requirements are pretty high for accepting students from abroad let alone granting student visas that I'd have to think barring any bad luck, that person's far more likely to earn a degree than try to earn a degree.
