If ya read the articles at ESPN.com and NFL.Com , Brown claims that Barrett Robbins who did disappear had a mental breakdown due to Callahan forcing him to learn the new signals and calls 2 days before the game. That Robbins pleaded with him not to do that and that it would take time to learn them all again , after spending a week practicing for the ground game.

but something doesn't jive here....they are saying Callahan changed the game plan on Friday...Barrett Robbins was reported as being gone on Wednesday or Thursday, IIRC

According to what was claimed , Robbins disappeared after Friday. That he had a mental breakdown that Saturday .

And showed up at your last Raiders camp weighing 300 pounds. Which made the coaching staff do a head smack. I remember when it happened and people questioned if the Raiders would actually try and play a very out of shape 300 pound QB.

- The NY Jets are open to trading CB Darrell Revis. Of course the following problems are Revis just came off a knee surgery , has a no franchise tag clause in his contract after 2013 season and will be a free agent in 2014. So teams are less likely to gamble money or draft picks to get Revis. Its expected Revis will demand as much as $16 million per season.

- The Jets meanwhile are in a horrible salary cap situation. The team for 2013 are over $19.4 million above the salary cap and they likely realize they can't keep Darrell Revis and may cut him this season. Revis is due $6+ million as well.


- Bill Callahan fired back and claimed the talks he sabotaged the Super Bowl as HC of the Raiders as being ludicrous . He also demanded that Tim Brown take back those words and threatened him with defamation . Brown essentially did the next day.

- The Chiefs became the 1st team to land 6 Pro Bowl players and not win 6 games in a season. When Von Miller couldn't play in the Pro Bowl due to an injury , Justin Houston was named in his spot. Houston had 10 sacks as a 2nd year player and that means KC's LB corps are all there nearly.... Houston , Johnson and Hali.

from what I remember, as I was still in college, we heard about this during the week, that the Raiders center had just up and disappeared

I could have sworn he vanished either Thursday or Friday, but even if it was Friday, youre telling me that in a span of a few hours he just decided to pull a vanishing act because the game plan changes?

I understand why the Jets would want to get rid of Revis, because they believe that they won't be able to keep him after next season and want to capitalize. However, my main gripe is that... it's what the Jets will end up getting for Revis that is the problem (a few 2nd Round picks, at best). Because this was a team that tried to utilize the short-term fix for championships, they've only had two 2nd Round draft picks the past six years (both useless players).

This team is a mess, both financially and in the PR standpoint.

This Sunday, I'm actually gonna pay attention to the Pro Bowl for the first time in a while, because I want to see Andrew Luck play in his first Pro Bowl.

The trade talks for Darrell Revis has started. So far the Broncos , Patriots , Packers and 49ers have an interest in Revis. The asking price maybe too steep though as the Jets are demanding 1st and 2nd round picks.

The Lions RB , Javid Best is likely gonna retire according to NFL.Com . His NFL career ended due to concussions . He suffered 4 since his senior season in college. Best is already getting compared to a NFL shooting star like former QB Greg Cook . Who as Bill Walsh claimed , "Could have been the greatest QB that ever played..."
