Former all-pro guard Lomas Brown is under a lot of heat now for admitting and bragging during a radio show he purposely missed a block and allowed former Lions QB Scott Mitchell to get hurt on the play. All in a way to injure Mitchell and knock him out of the game .

Brown admits now it was the wrong thing to do hurting Mitchell and claims he will reach out to him. Mitchell meanwhile has claimed he wants nothing to do with Brown after having him in his house and treating the entire OL he played for really well with gifts and all.

Some current Lions OL players have came out and called it very sick to do.

In more NFL News...the Raiders have placed Richard Seymour on IR. The DT as ESPN claims could likely end up ending his Raiders career with that move . He has slowed down , is 32 years old and isn't worth the salary to bring back next season. Seymour if anyone remembers was part of the SHOCKING insane trade Al Davis made in 2009 , where he shipped a 2011 1# pick to the Patriots for him. That and the Palmer trade are considered Davis blunders the past decade.

As Williamson on ESPN posted , that trade for Seymour is one you do if you feel you need one final piece to make a Super Bowl run. Which really the Raiders needed plenty more pieces.

Basically ...Romo leaves it all out there. Til the Cowboys can honestly play defense in games and help Romo , they won''t win. Tony Romo played his ass off last week and the defense just let the team walk down the field on them. On Sunday night , unless the defense shows up to stop RGIII ...then they might as well go 2-11 in December.

In NFL News , Michael Vick its reported will not redo his deal in the off-season. The Eagles are due to pay him $17+ million in 2013 and Vick knows he will get likely more in the free agent market. Also Vick doesn't like how the Eagles have fired to OL coaches so far and doesn't wanna stay in Philadelphia next year.

Sean Payton signed his extension with the New Orleans Saints its reported. He will make $8+ million a season now.

Reports out of Pittsburgh are that Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmrr and GM Tom Heckert will be fired after the game with the Steelers.

In KC I suspect the owner will give Marty Shottenheimer whatever he wants as head coach to come in. Part of me thinks Pioli will be told...you either ride with Marty as your coach or your ass is grass.

I really don't get the "one more year" cry for Schwartz. The Lions have shown an appalling lack of focus and discipline during his tenure that has consistently undermined the benefits of their actual talent. Even their playoff berth last season was earned as a result of a season long string of penalty-filled bad starts barely redeemed by frantic last minute comebacks. Basically, they got lucky a lot. That's not the way to build a program capable of competing at the highest levels over an extended period of time (as their impending early vacation proves).

Then again, Detroit has been known to hang on to bad coaching and front office people for too long, because they often get their jobs by kissing the Fords' butts. Look at how long they hung on to the useless and uninspiring Wayne Fontes. And the obviously-had-no-clue Matt Millen.

I doubt that Vick will get more than the $17+ million in the free market, but he'll probably get more than whatever the Eagles will offer him in the redo which is likely to be little. Vick's aging and oft-injured and teams have learned to scheme against him which has turned him into a turnover machine. But there are enough teams out there that are desperate for QBs that he'll get a shot.

I hope that it's not the Vikes. I'm really hoping that the Charges decide to give up on Rivers and deal him, but I think that the odds of that are exceedingly slim.

According to ESPN , the Jets will keep Rex Ryan and the GM next season. The odd man out is Tony Sparano who's offense is ranked 30th in the NFL. Also the Jets could lose a defensive cooridinator since his contract expires this season and a special teams coach as that dude is retiring after the season.

considering the Jets ran Brian Schottenheimer out of town and replaced him with Tony Sparano...yeah, it is definitely an issue
