Volume 7 came out just a few months ago. I haven't read it yet but I haven't heard it was the end of the series yet. I think there is only two hardcover editions out so far

I read the first two volumes and enjoyed it. I wasn't loving it enough to keep reading though. Sadly. It's nice, but I think it wears out its welcome.

Anyone else think Ninjette is awesome? Those three are a great trio. With the whole Demonwolf thing, there's also a Buffy-esque vibe to the comic. As for the art, it is the thing that really drew me to the series.
Ditto on the comments above - I love Ninjette's beer-soaked conversations with Demonwolf! I'm new to comics, discovered Adam Warren at Emerald City ComiCon this year and have already finished all seven books. (They keep getting better and there's plenty of room for more storyline!) I specifically searched out a comic forum to see if anyone can recommend other comics/graphic novels with a similar "pseudo-manga" art feel and tongue-in-cheek intelligence. Recommendations?

Hmm...pseudo-manga art? Umm...Wasn't Dirty Pair done by an American in manga-style?

Once again, not exactly like Empowered, but I always found Joe Mad's stuff to be really gorgeous to look at. His Uncanny X-Men run, as well as Battle Chasers (Man, I wish he'd resurrect Battle Chasers)!

Let's see, what else...Marvel Mangaverse has that pseudo-manga type art, I think. I can't remember the artist, but it was a lot of fun reading the mainline mangaverse issues, not the ones featuring the individual characters.

I like it and each volume offers a decent amount of laugh out loud moments. It's a fun, knowing book that has its (cheese)cake and eats it.

Anyone read this awesome interview with Adam Warren? You could see where some of the Demonwolf speeches comes from :)

I've recently been getting into this series. I read Volume 1 digitally on my iPad (wonderful reproduction quality) and am about half way through Volume 2. Its a really cleaver series that is rapidly growing out of its one-note premises. I love the cast, I love the lead, and good grief is Adam Warren a talented artist. Can't wait to work my way through the whole thing. Though its a tad slow going as I am trying to save money by waiting for various digital sales. That's why I've been trying to savor Volume 2 a little longer then I probably should.

I like it because it has evolved so much. It was fun seeing Emp as sort of the Charlie Brown of comics, always trying and sometimes succeeding but not without getting tied up a lot. Let's face it when you can't even do a tv interview without getting duct-taped it would seem that the fates are against you. But she never stops trying. He has a good page on deviant art too. http://adamwarren.deviantart.com/ and I don't mind the bondage since I started reading comics with GA Wonder Woman and I'm used to it. All heroines get tied up a lot, Emp is just more self conscious about it.

And as an afterthought, did anyone see Big Bang Theory last night? At the end of the show when Penny puts on the glasses and Leonard goes nuts and pulls her into the bedroom? That seemed to me to be a take off on Emp's "Sexy Librarian" Adventure.

Dammit! That's the best casting idea I've heard in a long time. Kelly Cuoco as Emp? AWESOME!!!
