Though I would have done without some over exposed characters, this group actually has potential. The potential to focus on characters wh oare usually wallpapers characters while the over exposed ones are just there for figuration and battle scene. If this is how we get more exposure for Shang-Chi, Sunspot or Falcon I'm really looking forward to the book.

    Not for me, thanks.

Hopefully. If not, then I'll be spending my money on other Marvel titles where women get some decent page time and representation.
Come on, we all know women can't fight. Putting more of them on this team would be CRUEL to THEM.....

For the diversity of the line-up, so far.
Three women out of 14. (four out of 18 if they continue to put one female in each cover). Could be better. Much better.
Different etnicity. 2 out of 14 are not wasp. Really, really bad.
Five different nationalities represented (American, Canadian, British, Russian, Brazilian). Six if Shang-chi confirmed (Chinese, right?). That's actually a plus. But it could be better. Let's see what the final four will bring.

    Peace

Maybe we'll get more females into the mix.

As I said in the Eighteen Avengers thread, I'm really only upset about Spider-Man and Wolverine. And that's a personal bias, I admit. I really only like Spidey for his villains, and I can't stand Wolverine without Cyclops constantly grinding his gears. So I'd like to see those two go. Out of the three remaining slots (assuming that shadowy figure isn't Shang-Chi), I'd like two to be women, and one to be Black Panther (T'Challa).

Because it's pathetic that there are currently only three women on an 18 character roster. That's 16.67% as opposed to the ~51% of the world population or the 20%/33.34%/40% ratio of most smaller teams (1/5, 2/6, 2/5).
    My Pick of the Week:
This Week (02/06/2013): New Avengers #3
    Last Week (01/30/2013): Mara #2

Final four. And the mystery guy makes it three. Still expecting some of the Academy to make it or maybe not.

Really disappointed. Thought they would have tried for something different.

Well, looks like I'm saving $8 a month.
    Really disappointing.

It's Hickman, so I'm sure it'll be a fine book, but it's mostly a really uninspired lineup and I'd rather read stuff from good creators using new/unexplored characters than good creators using the movie stars and standbys.

And I will never get behind Wolverine being an Avenger.

You mean white. Or caucasian. Because I definitely don't see 12 WASP here.

And just to push the mutant integration angle, throw in a couple New Mutants, since all the big boy X-Men were probably already claimed by someone else. Oh, and whoever the hell that shadow guy is, I'm sure he's not going to be that important.
Why Carol is very obvious. One, she's a major powerhouse. Two, she's got the Marvel name and Marvel really wants her to be their Wonder Woman.

As for the New Mutants, they were being wasted with the X-Men. There's zero room for the New Mutants as they're preceded by the most popular mutants and superseded by newer mutants. Getting away from the X-Men is probably the best think Marvel can do for those characters. If they took the big guns from the core X-Books, those books would take sales hits HARD!
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!
