At first glance, this is a rather random choice for where to put the character, although it sounds like they're at least going to give an in-universe justification for it.

Sounds like this will be a great jumping on point for me after Minimum Carnage.

Sounds fun, and I'm from PA, so I approve. I like that they are spreading some of these heroes out to new locations!

I must say a change of pace can do everyone some good. I'm in for this.

Philly-area native here. I had no interest in a Flash Thompson Venom, but I may actually read this to see a comic set in my hometown. Although I'll probably go crazy if I see Citizens Bank park right next to City Hall, or if they have Flash eating a swiss-cheese cheesesteak. The latter would just be unforgivable.

And cue S/D claiming that this is more evidence that Slott is blowing up New York City in ASM #700...

It is good that they are moving him out of that crowded city.

As a fan of all things Philly and Venom, I strongly approve this move! I'm giddy with excitement to see Venom rage on Broad Street!

Sounds great. I love how they're switching things up with Venom and not letting him get stale.

Would you rather him be with Betty Brant?

The only reason they're being paired together is because he's in the Secret Avengers and Cullen Bunn wrote The Fearless, although it was Remender who initially set the two up.

How fun! I've been enjoying Bunn all this year (particularly on Fearless), so there's a strong chance I'll give this a try to see my fine city (and possibly my alma mater, Drexel U) leap from the page!

Just remember, if you're going to write cheesesteaks, Geno's and Pat's are not where locals would take Flash - they'd zip him to Jim's or Tony Luke's ;)

I'm really liking this trend in the Spider-books of spreading out from New York. I'm hoping the Avengers books follow suite.
Looking forward to the new Kid Loki book & Morbius.

Yes, because maybe, after the 11th time being blown up since 9/11, it will have an emotional punch...Damn you terrorists who made blowing up NY City not only a cliche, but also slightly in bad taste!

Well, I mean, why not? Cullen seems to like Val and is just taking advantage of something Remender is practically throwing at him. And besides, I think Flash and Val would have a few things in common, at least enough to start a "friendly" relationship.
